Below are all of andrew's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.I use a log 40 £20-25 with an amplifier as i'm 58 miles away from the wrekin but i think you could get away with just the aerial as i think the aerial you have is not performing well on UHF CH 53/57.
You could try moving the aerial up or down 6" at a time if possible to see if you can improve UHF CH 53.

I have uploaded a video comparing the new high power mux and the old muxes.

As you will see the high power mux is booming in here at a distance of 72 miles.
I will post another video after dso 2 next week.

Lee i think you might have possible blocking from the emley moor signals as they are on ch's 41/44/47/ same as the wrekin now.
When i saw the frequencies i thought there's going to be reception problems.
I receive the wrekin perfectly here 58 miles from it on a log 40 10 ft off the ground as the aerial is low down it can't see the emley signals ,The rotable traix aerial on the roof also works but the ArqA mux quality varies.

Regarding HD on uhf ch 30 it started on the 20th as that was the day i lost reception of CH 4 from crystal palace but gained BBC 2 from there.
After a week of waching tv from the wrekin i can confirm no problems with the new frequencies.
If anyone is interested i have posted the signal levels before and after DSO on my you tube channel along with the analogue close.

My location is 58 miles north of the wrekin.
