You can download "tvcatchup" to your pc, this is a full freeview service and i think if you buy a usb, you should be able to record and pause live tv.

I have tried to install the BBC,itv,Ch.4& BBC one HD, but my tv cannot find them. I have a HD ready tv with freeview,but still i cannot get these channels. Do i need additional equipment to receive these channels
