My son recently moved into a house with a satellitedish. He bought a freesat box & all works fine. He now wants to add an HDD recorder. Freeview recorders seem to be cheaper than freesat & would allow him to record (via the aerial) freeview programmes not on freesat. Is this possible? Or does he need to get a freesat recorder? A freesat recorder would, as far as I can see, render the existing freesat decoder obsolete. The TV set has freeview built in.
Any advice gratefully accepted.
