Sky RF2 Output Problems: My neighbour has just replaced an old CRT TV in the bedroom with a Panasonic LX26X20B digital TV. The old CRT TV was tuned to the RF2 output analogue channel and all was OK for watching Sky upstairs. The new Panasonic appears to have a digital tuner but no analogue tuner in order to tune in the Sky box RF2 outlet. Can I use this TV to view Sky in this manner? If not could I use a diggie box to feed in the analogue input and end up with a digital signal being presented at the aerial input to the TV. (Only wants to watch Sky sports channels upstairs) Any help greatly appreciated on how to conquer this problem.

Michael R: If the set has no analogue tuner, then you can't use the RF2 output as it is analogue.

A "diggie box" does not in any way convert and analogue signal into a digital one.

The best replacement would probably be a "wireless video sender", such as Argos - www.argos.co.uk
.

I currently have a Sky HD PVR box.

If I terminate my sky contract, will I still be able to watch the programs I have already recorded, or will they be blocked?

I am going to take Freesat but just want to check if i can still watch the old recordings?

Barbie Ayres: I sounds like you might have the problem that "Method 2" on What can I do when my Sky Digibox says 'No Signal' or 'Technical fault'? | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice can assist with.

If it is a problem with the LNB output, your dish will have four of them, so the problem can be fixed by changing the cable from one output to another.

My son recently moved into a house with a satellite dish. He bought a freesat box & all works fine. He now wants to add an HDD recorder. Freeview recorders seem to be cheaper than freesat & would allow him to record (via the aerial) freeview programmes not on freesat. Is this possible? Or does he need to get a freesat recorder? A freesat recorder would, as far as I can see, render the existing freesat decoder obsolete. The TV set has freeview built in.
Any advice gratefully accepted.
