Thanks Dave, I selected manual scan it only appears as RF channel 39 not UHF channel 39, no strength or quality appeared. The box is set to DVB-T2 mode. I will try and get the aerial adjusted and let you know how I get on.
Thanks Carl, I updated the software last night on the I Can box it is Version 020711. It is really annoying as I expected a rush for the boxes and thought I was well prepared buying in advance.

I have just got one aerial pointing out towards the Black Mountain. My neighbours have 2 aerials. I am missing the long horizontial one, so I will get this sorted. I don't have Sky so that isn't the problem, it must be the aerial.
Carl, My friend updated her I-Can box last night with the software update, she lives in another part of Belfast and since the update has been able to receive RTE, RTE2 and TG4.
Thanks for the advice to dat, I will keep you posted on how I get on.

I haven't done anything with the aerial but rescaned the channels on the I-Can box last night and I now I can see TG4, RTE 1, RTE 2 on 51, 52 and 53 respectively on the EPG. I can also see what programmes are on using the EPG but I have no picture or sound. Any thoughts?

Thanks Carl, learning so much about TVs since the DSO. The box has worked in another friends house and they picked up RTE with it. If RTE is showing on 51, 52 and 53 does that mean that my aerial is the K class?
I also have another couple of friends with the I-Can box, one of them could not access the menu or EPG however when they pressed the DISP buttom and moved from 1080p to 560p they could access the menu, maybe this might work for your client.

I bought my Freeview HD box a number of months ago in anticipation that I would receieve RTE channels in Belfast - BT12 6EG, however I have been very disappointed as I am unable to receive any RTE channels. I have restored factory settings, reinstalled and updated channel lists on my i-Can Easy HD 2851T Freeview HD Set Top Box. I have also noticed that when I rescanned some channels appeared on the search list but did not appear on the TV menu. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
