Roland: Short answer- zero. Commercial broadcasters can't be bothered. Go for Freesat.

Krenton: Check your signal strength, and check on the transmitter you should be on as to what mux it is. If you can't find anything from that whole mux, and you've low signal strenght, you've got a problem with your aerial syste. Hopefully something as simple as a dodgy lead from the back of the recorder to the wall.

BTW - you PVR shouldn't need a retune - it will pick up new stations automatically.

Hannington (Hampshire, England) transmitter

G Titterington: Since there seems to be no problem with the transmitter, best check all the cables again.

John Blackmore: Since the transmitter has no apparent problems, its likely your system. Unfortunately, you've retuned, thus making it much more difficult to get the right transmitter.

Check your cabling, because at best its a loose connection, or similar. Check signal strength on all muxes - if you've lost the weak ones, then the stronger ones will be next.

If they are all low, and you've checked what you can, you'll need to call in a professional.

scott dunbar: A DVD player is just that - a player. It wont record. If you want to use the Sky box to record to a VCR/DVD recorder, then the manual should tell you how to set it up.

Dougie Lawson: An engineering message has popped up, saying there is/was a weak signal.

But the reality is that even a 'weak' signal from a transmitter is liable to be more powerful than the digital signal was before switchover - so if your reception is suddenly dodgy you probably have an underlying problem which any engineering work has simply shown up.

Sometimes there are faults on transmitters, and it worth reporting them, but the bulk of people who claim 'it must be the transmitter' are not thinking logically - the most likely fault is that their end.

John A.Bonner: Since its says Talking Pictures is on Com7, and Sudbury does not seem to have a Com 7, that might explain it....

Kevin Lovatt: Firstly, NEVER NEVER give out your address (or phone number) on a public forum. We dont need any more than a postcode, and no one will be contacting you by post.

Look at DigitalUK's website - Coverage Checker - Detailed View , you've got two choices - roughly SW (204 degrees) is Sutton Coldfield, which sounds fine. Waltham is the other choice, but Sutton Coldfield should be fine. As long as signal strength is roughly 75%, (not too high, not too low), you get all the muxes your supposed to, and quality is as close to 100% as you can, its cool.

Charlotte Walford: You dont really need to do anything. Your TV will automatically tune itself to the new frequencies, when it needs to.If your reception is then poor, because your aerial is not the correct one, then you ring to organisation responsible for this change, and they will get someone to fit a new one for you.

Chances are that most people will really not notice any change at all.

Miss Jones: If you've lost those, its most likely that you have a problem with your aerial system. And retuning makes things worse. Check the cabling, and if no luck, get a professional in.
