Isla: ' I don't see that as a long-term solution...! '

Indeed - you put with this sort of thing for a little while, but it is a pain. I'm still waiting to hear back from the BBC, and I'm probably going to email Goodmans, mainly on the basis of 'why not?'

Until there is either a patch from whoever actually cares about Goodmans/Bush etc's software, or a change from the Beeb, we are sort of stuck.

Nightjar: At some point that Matsui is going to die (even if the box comes back to life).
My professional advice is to find the right size for the room, buy one of the four major brands (LG, Samsung, Sony or Panasonic), and get Freeview HD, Full HD Wifi & Smart. Get the best picture you can for your money. You can get the full monty in 32in for less than £300 or less. And dont be afraid to ask questions in a proper shop - we like helping!

In the meantime, hopefully things will get sorted out soon. And there is nothing wrong in spending money on good wine!

Chris: If your TV is a Goodmans/Bush (or, since you say its a 'cheapie', perhaps with the same software), then there is a decent chance you've got the same problem as the rest of us. See this thread: My ITV/C4 Freeview channels have disappeared - what can I do? Is it my SCART ca

We are hoping for a solution soon.

Liz Stone: If you have Goodmans bush digibox, etc, then that sounds about right - see here: My ITV/C4 Freeview channels have disappeared - what can I do? Is it my SCART ca | Help! ill: Could be the curse of the Goodmans box - see here: My ITV/C4 Freeview channels have disappeared - what can I do? Is it my SCART ca | Help! Freeview and aerials | ukfree.tv - 12 years of independent, free digital TV advice Matsui was a Currys own brand, so I'm slightly surprised at them suing Vestrel software, but it kind of makes sense.

SquidgyJersey: The Goodmans having problems makes perfect sense, although I'm a bit surprised by Manhatten, since we havn't heard of them having problems.

I'm really surprised by the TV having problems. I know Toshiba have occasionally had some sort of semi rebadging going on, but Sharp and LG tend to use their own software.

I'm going to email Feedback, and ring the BBC, because this is getting a bit silly.

mark manwaring-white: Frankly, the audio is the least of their problems! They seem to show straight-to-video films from 20 years ago, with the picture quality of a knockoff video tape. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if they were just going through someones old video collection.

patricia: If you are tuned into Sutton Coldfield, then its possible that the BBC channels are at slightly too high a strength for the box. Humax make (or licence) the BT box, and their tuners tend to be sensitive.

As for Nat. Geographic - as far as I'm aware, thats only available on Sky, so is it another channel that your having problems with?

David Parker: I'm not sure what 'buzzed' means, but I suspect what happened is that there is a problem with your aerial system, and the so there is just enough signal to find the channels, but not enough to actually show anything, hence the 'No Signal'. In reality, thats 'no useable signal'.

Its probably a very loose connection, or a cable hanging by a thread.
