Below are all of MikeB's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.Joe: I just tried my Pure - there are BBC podcasts still available, such as a Today Programme story, and there are a fair number, but I didn't try them all, so I'm not sure how many, and whether they work.

john: Have a look at Brianists page on 4G - the actual number of people being affected is probably pretty small, and if they didn't send you a filter (which was a precaution anyway), its unlikely your having a problem with 4G.
Check your signal strength - could be too high these days, or possibly loose cables.
Let us know what the chap says though, it would be interesting to see what the effects actually are.

Ian from notts: I had a customer asking about this on Sunday - they wanted BT Sports, but wanted to buy a Youview PVR. I checked the BT website, and it has three options - via Sky ( didn't mention anything about Virgin), via a BT box ( which is basically a Youview box , but it has to be the BT version), or via an app/PC/Mac.

Joe: There seems to be a link for contacting the BBC on both their postcost page and one for DAB radio : BBC - Radio - Contact
Since the situation sort of comes under a number of different departments (Internet, podcast, DAB?), I'd suggest pick one and see.
It is annoying, and It would be interesting to see how many others have the same problem. Might be worth contacting Roberts, and see if they have a software update which might help - I know that Pure do that every so often.
I have to admit that I tend to use my Ipod touch with the Iplayer/Iplayer radio app/Itunes/TuneIN for listing to podcasts, so its not a feature I've used, but is certainly one thats going to be more in demand. I've just noticed that What Hifi has just given the Radio of the Year award to the Pure F4 - which is an internet radio (i've got the cheap previous version) - thats the future, so the BBC had better make sure that their services work with it.
Let us know what happens.

Michelle: the first thing to ask is 'have you actually tried the existing aerial?'
Just because its an older aerial, there is no reason why it should not work now. So you need to at least give it a go-if it works, great, if not, then you could at least ask the land lord to do something about it.
Ok - portable aerials are mostly rubbish, but you should at least get your local light transmitter - it's only a kilometre away. Have a look at the links beside your question for more details.
I can't suggest a really good indoor aerial, because even the best are not that great - they tend to work when they work. Check your signal strength, and try to put the aerial as high as possible , but ultimately you might have to just use trial and error to get the best reception you can at the moment. I rally would not buy another indoor aerial - your just wasting your money.

G D Bennett: even with work going on at Crystal Pslace, your signal should be fine. Virgin is cable, not freeview, so are entirely different.
If your getting no signal at all(and check with another freeview box to make sure there is not a glitch with just one tv, etc) - there must be a problem within your system. If the aerial is in the loft, check all the connections.

hippo: since it seems fine on my tv, I suspect that your retuning has picked up a light transmitter, which does not have this channel. Try not to retune unless you need to, and remember that many digi boxes pick up the lowest rf channel transmitter first, rather than your main transmitter.
For everyone complaining about the sound on Movie Mix, or how to get on Pick TV, or moaning about any channel, there is something to think about - THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL WEBSITE!
If you want to contact a particular channel about a query, complaint, etc , then actually contact that channel. They are not difficult to find, just use Google, but if you complain using this website, you are wasting your time. The same goes for people complaining about their tv reception - this site is about help, but it is official. If you want to complain to the BBC , etc, then do so directly.

Alan Last: if your connecting it to a freeview box, the boxes instructions should tell you how to do it - most have rf in/rf out for just this problem. You should put the aerial lead from the wall socket to the rf in socket on the back of the box, and then another aerial lead from the second (out) socket to the normal aerial socket on the back of the tv.
This does sound like a very old TV, and I would be wary of spending too much money on making it digital-£20 is reasonable, but since a brand new wfi smart Samsung 22 is only £219, you pays your money.....

Teresa Warn: Redruth is having engineering work, but they are seldom off line for very long, and even a reduced signal should be fine for most people (your only 24km from the transmitter).
Check your connections, because if your getting no signal at all, its liable to be something to do with your system.

Malcolm Mercer: your asking why BT are not aware of something......
I suspect it might have something to do with the exchange or line. My BT broadband had a similar problem when I went over to them, and after two months of no broadband ( which meant that my other ISP did not get cancelled, something I was unaware of), I cancelled and went to Virgin.
I assume that the exchange has to be fast enough for the service, and it would not surprise me if bt sells you the package without bothering to check this first.
But I'm not bitter....!
