Would be interesting to get a complete list of Com 7 and 8 transmitters, showing powers etc.In stead of putting bogus postcodes into Digital UK post code checker to gleam this information piecemeal?
Particularly,as the powersnow, seem to be much higher?

As of today,Arqiva have been broadcasting from the Sutton Coldfield transmitter a test transmission with tone at LCN 791 and 792,labled respectively Local TV test 1 and 2
This is for the local TV service City TV for the Birmingham and Black Country area.
Using channel 51,the signal strengths are a full 25dB down on the other digital services from S Coldfield, but it appears quite robust here in the South-east Shropshire area.
Be interesting to compare notes in other parts of the West Mids?

I have exactly the same issue with my LCD Freeview HD TV.I can manually scan for CH 33 from S Coldfield and the duplicated PSB 3 HD channels appear!Bizarre!
I am wondering if this is an older software issue with the TV,but obviously very frustrating!

Briantist; The maps are very helpful to me in a practical way.But when are you going to change the Com7/Com8 Kw powers to the correct levels?

Thank you,Briantist and Mike Dimmick,i appreciate both your answers.
Surely it is not only helpful but also sensible for this information to be officially published?
After all, this is the way of doing things!is it not?

Briantist;surely the most logical move, would be to put BBC Four on BBCB mux,in place of BBC Three,so that it could be viewed nationwide in HD,from every terrestrial transmitter....Then call it BBC Three!!as surely night follows day, just watch the demise of a so called channel that only can be found on the internet!
The BBC will still make programmes for a younger audience, that can then be broadcast straight on to BBC 1/2,and lf broadcast on a dedicated internet channel, first, will find their way on to the two main networks!eventually.

I could not disagree with this more!i live in the Midlands area,so i receive 'Midlands Today'.Professionally presented by good anchors and backed up by
more than able journalists. For example there is a more in depth look at local sport, weather and items that sometimes affect in-directly the viewer. This particular regional magazine has won industry awards.
Far superior to the offering made by'Central news'!
Part of what made British television stand out from the rest of the world was that there was a remit to make local/regional programmes. The halcyon days of ITV,were the ones in which each individual ITV company was truly independent,
producing local programmes not only regional magazines but programmes that were broadcast individually to a particular region, instead of maybe a ITV networked programme.
This is not a good enough solution to actually get rid of regional variants of BBC 1,just to solve the issue of HD duplication!of BBC1
I appreciate that we do not live only in a terrestrial TV age, but i think
getting rid of regional TV on the BBC would be a big mistake!
