Richard Cooper: There are 2 bactons, one 7km away from Mendlesham and another 73km from Mendlesham. Using data from fmscan.org, both of them can get Mendlesham, but the one 73km away barely gets it. I thought I should share this with you. Thanks!

Chris: well your nearest transmitter is Colchester, and you should try pointing it a bit southeast. I'm not the biggest expert though but I hope this helps!
