Mike: Thanks for the advice, unfortunately I think your spot on. I've always had a problem with Channel 49 and did think it was due to the Trefechan transmitter. 75% signal with 0% Quality. I didn't realise the latest channels for Wenvoe also clashed. I bought a Vision Stealth aerial to overcome the Channel 49 problem, but it didn't help. I guess I've had it with 5* and 5 USA now and will have to join everyone else with a substandard service off the local transmitter. I wonder if screening the back of the aerial will help, there's enough metal work up there to attach it to?? Otherwise is the Mendip transmitter possible from Merthyr Tydfil? I'm currently using a 28db masthead amplifier and vision Stealth aerial set up.

For the last 6 months I've been receiving satisfactory service of Channels 41+,44,51 and 30 from Wenvoe. Signal 75% Quality 100% on Channels 41+ & 44. Lower signal and poorer quality on Channels 51 & 30 with ocasional drop outs on picture, but better than nothing off the local Merthyr Tydfil transmitter. I've never been able to get Channel 49 successfully, just ocasional breakthrough of the picture when conditions have been good. Since the change in frequency on 27th I can't receive the new channels 42+ and 45, no signal at all? Given this change included a POWER UP!! I anticipated better reception from Arquiva A and SDN. I'm in a fairly low position near the top of Cyfarthfa Park, but with good reception of Channels 41+&44. Unless this change is a work in progress, then I can only assume the new transmitter aerials are lower on the mast at Wenvoe, eliminating my reception. Any other ideas or information will be appreciated please.
