Check with SONY!!, thousands of people having problems with FREEVIEW, it is SONY equipment, both my rdr's went down at the same time last night, million to one chance, 2 other recorders on same input line from arial working fine, thought it was a 4G problem phoned them and they have had many Sony customers complaining, they led me onto FREEVIEW who said their signal OK, but hundreds of Sony owners complaining, also told me SONY had been on to them saying there was a problem, but did not say what!!!!, gave me a number UK 08448466555, but answering machine said no one there till monday, great customer service eh!!!!

Thanks to who ever found out setting setup to FRANCE, it actualy works, pity all the brains in the most powerful media company in the world SONY, could not do this or its customers, thank god for techno geeks.

For those who are not techo's the method is as follows

press Enter on System Menu
press Enter om Initial Setup
press Enter on Basic
move cursor to Easy Setup and press Enter
press Enter on Start
Leave next screen on English and press Enter
press Enter on Auto Scan
Next screen is the one to change to FRANCE, move cursor left or right until FRANCE appears press Enter
Auto SCan now searches for channels
Wait until setting clock pop up finnishes can take a little while
Ignore next setup as it is for defunct analouge channels
Press system menu button to finnish
You should now have all your channels

Have not been able to check if system now on French Time, be careful as his could put auto recording time different to UK settings and may put time out by one hour.

Hope this helps

You do not state your equipment, all I can do is refer you to above my reply dated Sunday 21st July, it worked for all Sony recorders, if you do not have Sony try instructions any way there might be a solution there somewhere, it seems for some as yet unexplained reason that the British signal is at fault and cannot be read by certain equipment, please post results to gelp others,
