Murdoch can bite me, there's no way I'll ever attach a satellite dish to my house. Doesn't matter how many freeview channels he buys up and closes down.
I've been recording all the episodes of ST Voyager on my PlayTV adapter and copying out the files to my PC, for months. Luckily I'll have all 172 recorded by the end of January. Also managed to record the 13 eps of V series 1. That's a show I'll miss on freeview

By the way, what's with all the +1 channels? I used to have Film4+1 (dont get the Multiplex D channels inc Film4). They said that they were replacing Film4+1, it would be a proper channel not just a +1, then they turn around and replace it with channel4+1.

That would be a good option Les, but I think I'll just wait until analogue is switched off in my area and see if the extra power enables me to get multiplex D.

I will probably be re-tuning a lot of TVs today, including 2 at my Grans house. Do we retune later in the day, or is it any time after 6am?
I'm personally hoping that with the boost in signal strength I will get the multiplex with Film 4 by the 22nd. I don't get multiplex D at the moment, fingers crossed I'll get that is the only set of channels I don't get the new multiplex ARQB. Not at the expense of any others though I hope...

Did a retune there, and it picked up the multiplex I couldn't receive before. Finally have Film4 again :)
Glad I didn't upgrade the aerial. I'll pop down to my Grandmothers house later today and retune her freeview boxes.

I'd prefer if they just increased in bitrate on the rest of the channels on the multiplex, instead of introducing yet another Dave/Challenge clone.

I had no problems tuning in my freeview box and my grandmothers upstairs & downstairs freeview boxes.
But my sisters freeview box in her bedroom was a different matter, for a while now the box has been picking up 800 numbers (very old hardware by freeview standards) but when she tried to scan she lost all the BBC channels.
When I eventually got to it I had to do "auto scan - replace all services", then to pick up the rest of the channels "auto scan - add more services". I've been trying to get her a new freeview box for a while now but she's not having any of it. Hell, her "channel ^" button doesn't even work anymore...
#facepalm
She's stubborn, I think I'm going to try and get her a little LCD tv, sneak it in and sneak the CRT out lol

I'm all for it, if it increases the possible number of HD freeview channels and some new SD channels. But if it ends up being filled up with +1 channels, bidtv/qvc type channels and/or some topup tv style subscription channels then whats the point.

Thanks Transmitter engineering, was watching BBC News 24 there and the signal cut out. Good to know that there's a reason, I'm in the Black Hill transmitter area.
In my head I was working out where I could quickly get another PlayTV adapter for my PS3 lol.
Will tuners require a retune in the morning
