Bernard Aldymon:

Just to add, depending on where you are within Hemel Hempstead, those two channels - multiplexes ArqA/COM5 & ArqB/COM6 may be the weakest of the signals or more vulnerable to interference from elsewhere.

Well that's certainly looks to be the case, first time I've seen that error :o

The transmitter should now be back on air -
From 10:09am to 3:53pm on 14th Jan 2024 BBC A/BBCB HD Off the air due to a fault

If you haven't already got your signals back, try that manual retune I suggested.

Although this isn't the Torosay transmitter page, this relay and a number of others and Torosay have all been off air due to a fault, but the signals should now be back according to the BBC report.
From 10:09am to 3:53pm on 14th Jan 2024 BBC A/BBCB HD Off the air due to a fault

I hope you hadn't retuned at all. IF you were correctly tuning to start with, then retuning when you have NO Signal or badly pixellated pictures/broken sound usually just clears your correct tuning (or may tune you to incorrect weak signals from another transmitter which disappear as weather changes).
You cannot tune to a signal that is not there or cannot be decoded, it doesn't matter whether the problem is due to Engineering, a transmitter fault or a fault on your own aerial system.

IF you did retune and your tuning has been cleared, you'll have to repeat retune until you have all the signals back.

The filter must go before any amplification otherwise it defeats the object.
You need to remember that your predicted reception of the COMs is already "variable". There's a multitude of possibilities as I've already indicated, as to why C37 is more vulnerable for you.

Channel 5 HD

Linda :

Channel 5+1 is carried on the SDN/COM4 multiplex, not the same one as Ch.5, Ch.4, ITV etc. Which channels did you check?
If you still have the problem check channel LCNs 16 QVC, 20 Drama, 21 5USA etc.
If you lost them then you have an issue with reception of the SDN multiplex for some reason, (it's ok with me).
Do NOT retune. You can't tune to signals that aren't there or can't be decoded, the usual result is it will clear your previous correct tuning.

For which TV channels are carried on which multiplex see
Channel listings for Industry Professionals | Freeview

If you still have a problem pst back with a full postcode, or which transmitter your aerial points at.

Anne McKillop:

This is not the broadcaster's website, you need to address your questions to them as was indicated in another response further up the page.
They are discovery+
They seem to have altered the Help page and I can't see the Contact Us link atm, you'll have to plough through their options I'm afraid.

Adrian Holroyd:

Can't find any reported faults for the Dartmouth transmitter, However the transmitter is a Relay of Beacon Hill which is listed for Planned Engineering with Pixellation or flickering on some or all channels which may mean that the Relay loses signal on some occasions.

Do NOT retune. Signals will return, they aren't usually missing for lengthy periods.
IF you have retuned that was a mistake as you cannot tune to signals that are not there or cannot be decoded (badly pixellated/sound breakup), the usual result is to clear what was your correct tuning.

Check in your TV Tuning section thjat you are correctly tuned to Dartmouth's UHF channels which are C32, C34, & C35 the latter two being the two you are missing.

If you are still having an issue, post back with a full postcode and more detail - when the problem started, anything you've done, also check obvious things such as your aerial looking intact and still pointing correctly and all your coax plugs/connections correctly plugged in and free of corrosion or water.
