Thanks for that, do keep us updated, and if we can help with any further suggestions if you still have problems.

The transmitter should be back on air according to BBC reports.
If you retuned your TV whilst you had no signal it will most likely have cleared the correct tuning! You cannot tune to signals that are not there.
If you did that and still have no signal then retune again which should return your channels.
In future, don't retune if you lose signal due to faults or power cuts etc, just be patient until the signals return when whatever fault is fixed.
If you still have no signals after retuning, post back with more detail about what you've done, which model of TV, whether you've check your aerial looking intact and still pointing correctly.

You'll have to read up a bit more ol' chap, even I knew that.
It's been well known for a long time that you need a TV Licence to watch ANY programme that is being transmitted LIVE at the time, whether it be on Freeview, Freesat (including +1 channels), or any streaming service, or ANY other Satellite services (that means those that aren't UK!).
Whilst the S4C player is effectively a copy of iPlayer, but it's called S4C Clic on Freeview Play and as already mentioned you don't need a licence to watch Catchup (On Demand). (IIRC when I last looked at it, there's no Live streaming option on S4C Clic).
Have a look here https://www.tvlicensing.c…faqs
Select "When is a TV Licence needed"
IMHO the way the information is given there, unless you read it thoroughly, someone could be "confused" into buying a licence that they don't actually need!
The information is stated much more clearly and succinctly on the back of the Licence itself.
Quote -
"You are covered to:
a) watch and record programmes as they are being shown on TV or live on an online service, including programmes streamed over the internet and satellite programmes from outside the UK, and
b) watch and download BBC programmes on BBC iPlayer.
This can be on any device, including TVs, computers, laptops, mobile phones, tablets, games consoles, digital boxes and DVD/VHS recorders.
.....
This licence does not cover areas occupied solely by tenants, lodgers or paying guests.
(There is a bit more on the back of the licence but no doubt covered in the FAQ).

The GBNews channel is DAB+ carried on the D1 National commercial multiplex Block 11D: 222.064MHz.
The nearest transmitter to Cambridge that is broadcasting the multiplex is at Madingley,
As you haven't given a full postcode we don't know how far away from the transmitter you may be.
There is some essential engineering work being carried out at the transmitter which may affect some multiplexes, with slightly reduced power.
Are you having any problems with other stations on the multiplex such as Capital, Heart, LBC News, Smooth, Gold UK? If not, and still have a problem with GBNews, try retuning the multiplex. If that doesn't fix it, the best solution is usually to contact the station affected. So ring GBNews, tell them you having a reception problem that you didn't have before and give them your postcode and ask them to pass the information on the the technical transmitter people.

Hi, PSB3 has always been T2 so that's a bit of a red herring. Your set is fine.
There still doesn't appear to be any reports of problems with the Backwell transmitter.
Have you tried a manual retune again since and got the channels back? Do check that they aren't up in the 800s on your EPG.
If you are still having a problem, post back with the Signal Strength and Quality figures that your set it giving you for the other two multiplexes, this may give us a clue as to whether interference could be an issue.
Do you have an aerial amp and splitter at all?
You should have received a postcard from Restore TV. Put your postcode into

The Peterchurch transmitter aka Vowchurch is not showing any reported faults at this time.
Try a manual retune on UHF Channel C47.
Post back if you are still having problems.
If your set does automatic retuning when it finds No signal, go into Settings and turn that function OFF, it is more trouble than it's worth.

Paul Dursley:
That low quality on C28 does suggest there's some interference problems, so Restore TV should be sending you a filter.
Just now when I checked, PSB3 from Mendip seemed normal, I think Backwell is an off-air relay but can't find definite confirmation of that, but unless the interference is completely wiping out C22, it's odd.
Do check that you don't have any corrosion or water in your coax connections, this can cause odd effects.
PS, As Wenvoe is so strong, have you tried manual tuning C42, C45 & C39 for the COM muxes and possibly C37 for the Local mux?

Paul Dursley:
Shame those COMs have poor quality although COM5 isn't too bad and COM6 may be usable, though they could all change a bit with the weather.

Transmitter engineering do not read here or post here. The information is collated from Engineering pages. EE have no involvement in the TV or other broadcast transmitters, I don't know where you get that idea from!
Yes, the BBC have reported that the transmitter went off air due to a fault at 9.20pm
It may have escaped your attention but there were some severe winds the other day, and reading between the lines of the information available, one of the outages was due to the feed to the transmitter being affected by a power cut affecting several parts of the NP11 postcode area.
That cut appears to have had some other consequences. Details of faults are never provided by Arqiva (who are responsible for the transmitter maintenance etc.) nor by the BBC.
It could be that temporary repairs were made to restore power and some interruption has occurred since to make more permanent repairs. It's even possible that the antenna were damaged by the winds and interruptions would be needed to make repairs.
Two other transmitters are affected by the same issue as they are linked relays, Wattsville and Pennar.
Transmitters are not routinely interrupted for the fun of it!
