Below are all of ian a's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.regardless of 5hd, just how much hdtv is shown on hd channels ? other than bbc/hd which i believe is 100% the rest can only show what is filmed in hd or upscaled (another chat !!) and,
if its filmed in hd does that affect the standard viewing on the sd channel thus giving a better picture anyway ?

Can you just use a red/white audio cable to connect your tv to the surroun sound system?
Are there any other sockets (scart, audio, digital audio)available on the tv and surround sound?

can anybody help with a thomson hdd recorder?
the signal should be waltham but it stores belmont and emley moor first?
this could be a find and store first fault due to the age of the box?
but this seems to interupt recordings forcing it to default an miss in its schedule?
panasonic tv on waltham is ok and actual picture on thomson ok (it is belmont tho?)
and the recorder works ok at a different address?
another thomson does the same fault when used at this address?
these boxes have no manual tune tho do ask for a set frequency for the 2 tuners ?
this is from an address in sth normanton in derbys

sky's hd content has its own channel slots
ie- sky1 & sky1 hd, bbc1 & bbc1 hd so forth,
i believe the standard sky box would not pick up the channels you ask for as they would just unblock them for free viewing?
also there is no hdmi slot on a standard sky box ?

an option for you is to run a cable from your downstairs skybox to your bedroom tv and watch all your subscribed channels plus use your record.
if done correct a "magic eye" can be fitted so to use the remote in the bedroom ?

Thanx for that,
Mike, it seems i can use the thru loop to control the tv tuner as a 3rd cable is not an option here (2 recorders)
Cheers, Ian
