Have you checked what signals your are receiving and from which transmitter they are from?
You should be using Black hill with signals on channels 46,43, 40, 41+, 44, 47, 32 35 and 51. Your problem may be that you are getting some from Darvel which uses channels 22-, 25, 28, 23, 26, 29, 31 and 37. Which means that it is possible that an auto-tune will find those first and as they are at lower channel numbers, are from a different direction and in a different aerial group - so you may be getting them but with poor signal strength - hence all the problems.
So you need to check carefully which multiplexes your are receiving. You can normally do that by entering the manual tune mode BUT WITHOUT DOING A MANUAL TUNE. check whether the signals being received match the channels given above for Black Hill or if they are the ones from Darvel. If they latter, then do a manual retune for each of the incorrect channels.

True Christmas is not broadcast from every transmitter. It is usually only available on a 'local' service which is on selected transmitters only. If you enter a full post code into this site it will be possible to determine which is your local transmitter and whether it does transmit True Christmas.

That single figure is not enough, we need the figures for *all* of the channels used by Black Hill as they often differ. Having said that, 44-50% is on the low side anyway so you need to do something to increase that to between 65% and 85% but not greater.
You should start by checking carefully *all* the aerial cable connections. If they are all good but the strength is still low, then you may need a better aerial or possibly an amplifier. I use a Log-periodic aerial, such as the one shown at Online FM DAB TV Aerial sales (other types and suppliers are available) as that gives good gain and full coverage into the foreseeable future.

You should be getting excellent reception from Sandy Heath. If you are not them you may have an equipment problem (if it were the transmitter then there would be reports of several hundred thousand homes not getting signals!). Check all connections and restart all your equipment.

No. As it appears that all the flats on a communal aerial system have lost services you need to contact the Management Company responsible for the block of flats as they are responsible for the maintenance of the aerial system.

To help you we need to know some details first, such as your full post code (to check the transmitter), what aerial system you have, what TV equipment you have, etc. I assume you have a Freeview-capable television? That it is connected to a proper aerial system (and not one in the room).
Further advice available depending on your response.

Stephen:
Your Australian TV may not be suitable for UK terrestrial digital reception. If the information available on the digital transmission systems used in Australia is reliable, then they use 7 MHz channel separation but in the UK we use 8 MHz separation. That means the multiplexes are transmitted on different frequencies here compared to Australia. Some TVs have a setup facility to change it to recognise 8 MHz spacing, but many do not. Further, there are some differences in the encoding methods and hence your TV may not be able to decode all the digital signals.
I agree with MikeB's suggestion that you obtain a UK digital set-top receiver. Some are quite cheap (but may suffer from reliability issues) and you can get a Freeview PVR so you can record as well as watch. I'm sure MikeB has some ideas on what make/model you might buy.
Communal aerial systems (ariel is a typeface style) can be useful as long as they are well maintained. You might get to know neighbours and discuss their experience with the aerial system, but remember that some may be using satellite services via a dish which is completely different.
Signal reception from Black Hill is your location between Paisley and Govan should be quite good. The signals are available on UK channels 46, 43, 40, 41+, 44, 47, 32, 35 and 51 (local services only). You can find more details by clicking on the 'digitaltrade.uk' box (links to Coverage Checker - Detailed View just at the bottom of your posting.
Hope that helps?

To help you we need a full post code for your location and details of what television you have. It is also worth checking all your cables and connections. Then you should check the signal strength for each multiplex used by the transmitter you are using. Note that signal strengths between 65% and 85% are acceptable but anything greater is likely to give you problems.

Mrs J Strange:
The entries immediately above your posting tell you that Sandy Heath transmitter is likely to suffer from weak signals due to engineering work. As you have not given a full post code we have no idea of your location in relation to any transmitter, I can only assume your use Sandy Heath. If so, the weak signals can cause your problem. DO NOT retune.
