You are talking about a multiplex from the Nottingham transmitter, so I assume all your others are tuned to channels 27, 24, 21, 51, 52, 48 and 50. (Those for Waltham are channels 49, 54, 58, 29, 56, 57, 51 and 26 for Nottingham local.)
If you are getting Channel 4 East Midlands then you should be getting ITV for the East Midlands as well - they are in the same multiplex. In Hucknall you should not have a problem with reception so I suspect there may be a need to fully retune the TV set by firstly unplugging the aerial and doing an automatic scan. Then put the aerial plug back in and do a manual tune for all the available multiplexes (the channels I gave earlier). Hopefully that will recover your ITV Central for the East Midlands.

Without a full post code it is impossible to assist. Provide that and we can check which of over 1000 transmitters you ought to be using and what the receptions conditions are.

Just possibly! It depends entirely on where you live, so we need a full post code so we can examine the reception possibilities at your location. Some parts of Oswestry may be served by Sutton Coldfield but others are not. If you are served then the signal may need an amplifier to bring the level up to a reliable level.
Regarding the aerial, that depends on which transmitter you are currently using and what level of skill you have for things mechanical and electrical. It also depends on whether your current aerial is outside above the roof, inside in the loft or elsewhere.

Keith Cameron:
DO NOT RETUNE. Just be patient and as the high pressure weather passes the reception will improve.

Paul and Mr Foley:
We need a full post code so we can look up what the transmission and reception conditions are where you live.
The other thing you must do is to check what the signal strengths are for all the available multiplexes and report them here. Then we can see if you have too much or too little signal.

S. Breakspear:
At Upton on Severn it is highly unlikely that Sutton Coldfield signals will be available, far too distant.
If you provide a full post code we can check the reception conditions.

To help you at all we need to know where you live so please give a full post code. We also need to know what equipment you are using. If you are using a Sky box you may need to do a more effective reboot, so you need to turn the mains power off for at least 5 minutes, then turn it back on again and wait a further 5 minutes while the box resets. Then try to see which channels you have.

Please can you tell us which of the possible transmitters you are using - a list of the multiplex channels will help. Both West Runton and Belmont are shown to give poor reception at the post code given.

Clare:
Firstly we need your full post code so we can find out which transmitter(s) are available to you. Some areas can get signals from more than one transmitter but others can only use a single source.
It would seem that your TV has tuned to a transmitter carrying the London services and without the full post code we cannot tell what others might be available or suitable.
Further advice available, depending on provision of the full post code.

Michael King:
A lot of people across the country complain of there being a significant difference in sound level between the programmes and the adverts. Generally, in my experience, adverts have a greater sound level than programmes. There is nothing technically wrong with your equipment and all you can do is complain directly to the particular broadcaster concerned (not this website).
