Nigel:
Forces TV is transmitted from Black Hill on COM8 so should be receivable at your location.
You should also be able to get signals from Craigkelly, but that may be less reliable as it is further away.
Is you TV a Freeview HD type? Do you get BBC1 HD on channel 101? If not then that is why you are not getting Forces TV as COM8 is broadcast using HD encoding.

This is not the website for the broadcasyer. You would do best to aim your comments to them rather than this site which is primarily aimed at assisting with reception problems.

I believe that Ramsgate is served by the Dover Freeview transmitter, please correct me if that is incorrect.
Dover transmitter is a full service Freeview transmitter but it does not carry COM7 nor COM8. Forces TV is brodcast using capacity on COM8, so as Dover does not broadcast that you will not be able to receive it until the channel re-allocation occurs and Forces TV appears on a different multiplex, probably after March next year (according to the data hugher up this page).

That means your TV has been tuned to the Wenvoe transmitter. There are several possible English regional sources around Bristol (for example at Ilchester Crescent, Kings Weston Hill, etc), so to help you find which is best for you we need you to provide a full post code please. Then we can see where you are in relation to those transmitters, which you can or can't receive and hence suggest how to resolve your problem.

It is not this website that does that but the server in use. When I was recently in holiday in France for three weeks, I used a VPN service set to use a UK IP address and I was able to view all the comments and add mu contributions as well.

Mr Paul Bradley:
The HD services are not currently available with regionalised news services, so the broadcasters are using a 'general' setting so there are not any blank screens. Local regional services are available on the SD versions, on channel 3 for example instead of channel 103.
It is expected that when the forthcoming alterations to transmission arrangements take effect then the broadcasters have the opportunity to 'regionalise' their HD offerings.

Dr Brian Doe:
The BBC has not discontinued the iPlayer at all. We still use it to catch-up with programmes we have missed when broadcast live. All they've done is required some form of check to ensure viewers have a suitable licence.
We use a 32" (the diagonal measurement of the actual display) for both SD and HD viewing on Freeview and Freesat (though we have a Sky HD box we don't pay the extra for the HD service as we can get all we want on Freeview/Freesat). Our viewing distance is about 4-5 times the diagonal measurement and that suits us (that is the suggested ergonomic distance for comfortable viewing). We would not like sitting only about 1.2 metres away from the TV as that is uncomfortably close and would block the view for others.

It's not just you, I'm getting it in Firefox, Chrome and Opera.
So I hope Briantist can fix this for everyone.

It is more likely to be the Set Top Box that is having bad days. I suggest a reset by switching it off and then unplugging the mains supply to the box - but leave the TV connected. Then wait five minutes and plug the mains supply to the box back in, and then wait another five minutes whilst the box resets itself. Then switch it back on and check it is working correctly. Let us know if that solves the problem.
