If you stop your Sky+ or Sky HD subscription they will turn off the ability to record with your Sky box.
To record Freesat programmes you will need a Freesat PVR connected to your Sky dish.

Current phone handsets do not have the tuner needed for Freeview reception. The TV signals are not currently available via the mobile networks.
There may be some capability to use the internet facility of the mobile phone to view services currently available via the internet - but at the expense of your data package.
Technically, I understand it is not impossible to design a mobile handset/tablet/etc that could receive Freeview services but the aerial system of such devices is possible not sensitive enough for even reasonable reception unless you are pretty close to a main transmitter. There would still be the need to have a TV Licence to watch live broadcasts unless the Government change the law. Your home TV Licence may or may not cover the mobile device.

Howard The information given at http://www.a516digital.co…tml, which was updated today 1st September, does not appear to give a time but does detail how the changes will affect viewers. Another page says "On-screen messages will prompt viewers to retune on or after mid-afternoon on 3 September." which is not very precise! Hope that helps?

I assume the Keyworth location shown on the maps is correct? You are a little south west of the target area, the main signal being aimed into Nottingham and West Bridgeford. I know they are not that far from you but the transmitting aerials are quite good at targetting limited areas.
I suspect that in your location the signal strength will to rather too weak to get the service.

If you had the East Midlands Services prior to the retune, you will have been using either Waltham or Kimberley (Nottingham) transmitter. To decide which was used before the retune, take a look at your aerial. If the shorter bars are horizontal then you were using Waltham and should follow KMJ Derby's advice using the channel numbers for Waltham ( C49, C54, C58(HD), C29, C56, C57, C31(HD) and C26 (local)). The aerial will point roughly south east towards the Vale of Belvoir (where I used to live) and past the Home Brewery site. If your shorter bars are mounted vertically then you were using Kimberley and should tune to that again on C27, C24, C21(HD), C51, C52, C48, and C50 (local). The aerial for Kimberley will point just south of west towards Nuttal, Giltbrook and Kimberley.
Manually tuning these would be preferred so it does not 'accidentally' select the wrong transmitter.
Hope that helps?

The sample rate used during the recording and storage processes is much higher than that used for broadcasting via the DAB services. So there is a loss of fidelity in the down-conversion that happens prior to the digital broadcasting. The recordings broadcast on FM are converted back to analogue using the higher sample rate originally used to make the recording. The FM service is limited deliberately to a frequency range from 50 Hz up to 16 kHz as a 'pilot tone' (used to manage the stereo reproduction) is inserted at 38 kHz so the highest frequency that can be reproduced (without the use of oversampling) is just less than half that.

In all the years I've been in the industry, I've never heard of a 'holding mould'! I would understand a 'holding mode' though.

We really need a post code (or one of a nearby shop) so that contributors can determine which transmitter your are using and whether there are any issues.

Contributors here would need a post code to help determine which transmitter would be best for your reception.

It is highly unlikely that you could set up a prtable dish large enough to get FreeSat services that far to the south and west of the target area (UK). You would certainly have complaints from the site owners when you try to erect a 1.8 metre dish or larger as would be the minimum size needed.
You could try your Sky box but that would have exactly the same dish requirements.
It is to all intents and purposes an impractical idea because of the location.
