Rob - odd!
Have you tried one of the other TVs in the conservatory?
And tried disconnecting the sky feed?
If still nothing, suspect summat wrong with wiring or splitter.
Try switching the connections out of the booster and see if the problem moves.

If neighbours get the same, but TV man says you should have a strong signal, it sounds like some local source of interference. You and they should note when the problem arises.
It could be some factory starting or stopping, a change in the mains power, someone using digital singalling on their power wires, all sorts of things.
IIRC the BBC has some service to check these things.

IIRC Hastings is by the seaside, so could be radar causing problems - also signals may be restricted to stop them getting to france, or you could be under cliffs - but aerial man if local should have known such issues.

he probably already gets that from his skybox also distirbuting an aerial feed?
Think he wants to distribute the HD signal he's watching to other tellies.
Think SCART lead or TV rebroadcaster!
Do you have freeview boxes for other TVs? Very cheap these days for non-HD

But it would probably only cost a few pence to add circuitry to cope with the highest likely signal strengths.
And why is there no effort to publicise this problem? I don't recall seeing it on ads re changeover, or in manuals for tuners.
I am far more technical than the average viewer, and I am only aware of the problem from you posting about it!

Brian - Yes, they have told YOU - the professional who probably knew already.
But I don't recall seeing the information in anything sent to the mass of viewers; or broacast on the TV.
Have I missed it?

How do you even know how many channels you have?
Are the BBC channels at a high broadcast channel number where you are? If so, start your scan with the aerial unplugged, and plug it in when you get to the BBC channels.
Or a low number if your scan starts high?

pam - you need to be more explicit about what you are trying to do.
First get your new TV/box to work in a place where you already have kit that works. Then move it.
Depending on what signal strength you have you may need amplifier splitters. How do the wires run?
