Hi Arthur

Did you see the note above - and below?

Maybe they are changing over now to the final settings?

Do you have neighbours who use freeview - see if they experienced the same?

I am at the other side of the Chirch but only using Freesat now, so can't try myself.

After switchover frequency notes ():
Bromsgrove, Lark Stoke and The Wrekin will operate as a single frequency network (SFN).
After the PSB multiplexes switch at The Wrekin, the Arqiva multiplexes will remain on their pre-switchover frequencies and powers, and SDN will use a temporary frequency, for a short period before all three multiplexes adopt their final frequencies and powers during September 2011. During this transition period the commercial multiplexes will use the following frequencies: SDN ch49 and ch31 (both 2kW), Arqiva A ch57 (not 53) (1kW), Arqiva B ch53 (not 57) (1kW).

Brian - I already have a PVR. I entirely agree thay are vastly superior to a VCR.

But I have no idea if Diane King can afford a PVR, so think it reasonable to explain to her how she can still use her VCR if she wants to.

Alison - are you sure the new box supports remote viewing?

Do you perhaps have to switch on an "RF OUTPUT" option?

Did you by any chance recall the maxim "When all else fails, RTFM?" (Read The Manual).

Presumably the selling is to get you to get your MOT/Aerial from them nor some one else?

How not right? Do you have sound?

DT try REMOVING your boosters.

Digital signals can be too strong as well as too weak.

DT - some splitters have adjustable amplification.

Louise - Mostly not - either work or not work. It is feasible that performance could deteriorate, but rare. Some older boxes do not cope with the latest transmitssion methods. There is a thread here somewhere listing them.

There is WORSE

Resident's of Ilkley now routinely go fell walking entirely without headware, thus nullifying Yorkshire's only known choral music.
