UK digital TV reception predictor
You seem to have a fairly strong signal so roof ae may be OK - depending what is in the direction of the transmitter - and you have a choice of 4 at all points of the compass. I presume you know about H & V.
Always worth trying a booster - but don't tell Bryan who dislikes them.
NB That digital TV is a two stage process. You scan for channels, details of which are stored, then you receive. So if signal varies, once scanned you may or may not find it. But if you rescan and it is weak it will not appear when strong until you rescan.
Developer/Virgin deal sounds very dubious. How is it enforced on you? Presumably you have cable but must pay for it?

Nicky if you switch the lnb connections round do the non-working rooms stay the same, or move?

William - what I think he is saying is to see if there is any AC potential diffeerence between the outer (earth) conductor of the aerial coax and that of the satellite coax. That implies that one of them at least is unplugged from the set, which will (I think) connect both to earth or to a common neutral.

Isn't the 12v DC almost certainly from a power supply up the coax - either intentionally to power a masthead amp/splitter, or unintentionally from someone's set.
? just need a socket plate with a DC cutout?

Gill have you tried pointing the Ae in different directions?
Can you see C Pal, or are there buildings in the way?
How far are you? 200 yards? Can have odd effects that close. What do you get with NO aerial? Or just a bit of wire, or a wire hanger?

FWIW I get a good signal in Herne Hill - maybe 2-3miles away - with just a fly lead from the tV to the sash window fastener to hold it up.

Heather - It should work. And no harm should come from trying.
Chris - did you RTM ? I recall some other case where HD needed a different tuning setting or somesuch.
