I doubt they will get upset about you fitting a TV but you will have to make good if you leave.
I don't understand what you have done re the aerial but if you have interfered with the central system they have every right to object - especially if it doesn't work now!
If the TV works without an aerial - quite usual in strong signal areas, you have not got a problem have you?
It may be that the aerial signal is too strong - especially if it is amplified to supply several flats.

I'm not clear what EMP would do to equipment in general - eg not in use.
But analogue radio - and CW ! would be handy. ...-
It is ludicrous to contemplate scrapping Terrestrial TV. Satellite stops working when it snows, or heavy rainstorm.

Steve why not call a local installer (careful to get a genuine local not just a referral from a non-geographic number) and ask for advice. 30ft is not high - that's an average semi rooftop. Poles are good!
Our satellite seems to work through trees. I know it's not supposed to!
This lets you enter heights

Ange is your problem with ITV4 or with Channel 4 (which is not ITV)
Wales has S4C (Sianel pedwar Cymru - Channel four Wales) INSTEAD so no C4 for you unless
- on satellite, or
- you live somewhere where you CAN get a C4 signal from England. Look for it in the high numbers of your channel list - 700 800 900s depending on the brand. OR Retune having told your box a English postcode if you have that facility.

Now a question of my own.
In the kitchen we have a 14" Sony Trinitron CRT TV on Freesat.
When OH watches "Pointless" the various displays of questions are almost unreadable.
I know the digital signal has been analogued but surely on such a small and good quality set the display should be clear? The text in question is vastly above the screen pixel size.

I think the context was of post apocalypse communications. Something we might die to regret having ignored.
Surely EMP must be of limited range? A few miles at most?
I recall MAKING valve based equipment. And removing the d/f part of an R1155 receiver - with my father saying it was so much easier to work on them without the ack ack.

MikeB the print is quite big - maybe an inch high - at least a cm. The screen can and does display legible text far smaller. But when it is a picture of a gameshow - especially Pointless - the general picture rendering is poor as if it had been on a low bandwidth and lost definition..

Thanks Mike P - I posted the previous before seeing your post as I wandered off mid typing.
If it is unclear on a far bigger screen I will make a point of seeing what it looks like on digital TV.
Then perhaps complain.
Or would that be pointless?
Silly show anyway. I far prefer almost any of the other nursery tea time games. The Chase I actually like

Anthony - dunno - will look. Does that apply to freeSAT too? Pretty sure I've only got SCART - it was a "free for disabled person" setup. Got Freesat for the price of Freeview (£40 fitted inc dish/Ae and box) ) because the 100% safe roof access (you could only slide a few feet into a well was against their safety rules. And apparently the commissioning authority sent inspectors to a fair percentage of installations, so they couldn't "just do it". Unless I employed them privately!
In fact I can get Freeview through the window with the loop on the Sony - despite being 35 miles from the Tx!

Why annoying?
Promptness and price are valid reasons for choice. The customer has no real way of knowing you are better - but if you are nice to them will presumably tell their friends
