Incidentally if you can stick the wire coat hanger into the centre of the coax socket it will probably do the job. Known technically as a "Sketchley Loop Antenna"

Or an unpowered indoor aerial

Indoor Aerials from Aerial Shack

Or experiment with a bit of unshielded wire connected to the inner bit of a coax plug.

Christine Frost - If you have several TVs that used to work and now all don't it is probably either your aerial or a transmitter problem.

What experience do others locally have.

Adina - Agree with jb38.

Post your postcode for more help.

£300 sounds steep for a normal house. <£100 out in the sticks-plus London premium so maybe ££150.

Sara have you tried with whatever you used for analogue? Did you get analogue OK?

C Pal very strong in N16 so may be OK despite surrounding buildings.

Maybe not, depending where and what involved - but it is hard to see how water could be coming in with a properly installed aerial. If that is the cause they should rectify it for free.

Alvin one of my main listening places is the bathroom. My existing very ancient portable gets good reception for a couple of years on 4 D size alkaline batteries.

There is no mains and I don't want to b****r around with rechargables.

Also it provides Radio 4 instantly on pressing a single button. DAB radios seem to need programming in assembler for 10 minutes to do anything.

And finally, ALL the FM radios in my house are perfectly synchronised. I already face with DTB conflicts in the hall where my poota lives.

Neil - No point in satellite as you should do fine with a cheap /Freeview box per TV and your present aerial, so long as it points at Hannington.

MO'P - varies from box to box. Some will have a Menu item "Factory Reset". Others "First Time Install" others "Complete retune"

Nigel - need your postcode ot know what you SHOULD be getting.

But try by-passing the 8-way box and see if just one works OK.

Is your 8-way powered and getting a power supply?
