Below are all of Chaz_001's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.I live in crawley and get my tv transmission from Reigate transmitter and receive a good strong signal. I am curious as to why the new HD channels coming at the beginning of 2014 are available from only the crystal palace transmitter and not the Reigate relay. I spoke to a CAI approved aerial installer and they said there should be no reason why not as it has enough capacity. Will it happen at any time?

Any idea when the Freeview HD extra channels might appear for the Reigate transmitter that relays off Crystal Palace?

@Eladske - That is what I was suspecting by looking at the Reigate frequencies breakdown as there doesn't look like there is capacity. Bit of a shame as I can get Crystal Palace but I would need to get a new aerial by the looks of things :/

@Michael - I figured that that the aerial group for Reigate which is W and Crystal Palace being A+K meant that a different type of wideband aerial would be required? If not then I must be misunderstanding what it means by aerial groups! The aerial is about 3 years old.
If my aerial doesn't need changing then it should be a case of repositioning the aerial slightly.

@Dave - Thanks for that - answers my question so I will be fine. Looks like I will be fine then.

Despite receiving my signal from the Reigate transmitter in Crawley I managed to manually tune in my TV's to get the additional HD channels broadcast on COM 7 (channel 33 @ 570Mhz). The thing to keep in mind tough is that for me the signal strength goes up and down between 74% and 85% quite a bit where as all Reigate frequencies are 100% all the time.
As I distribute my TV signal downstairs to my TV and to 2 x dual TV tuners for my media center PC I needed to get a TV booster that distributes the signal as using a 3 x splitter was affecting the HD signal strength only interestingly.
Worth keeping mind though that sometimes I do get a broken signal but I would say 90% of the time it is fine for broadcasts on the COM7. It is not perfect but I more than content with it!

Forgot to mention above that I am getting my COM7 broadcasts from Crystal Palace.

Thanks Dave. As I receive my broadcasts from Reigate by default which is vertical and where the signal is also strongest I will leave it as it is.

With the Midhurst Transmitter and where I receive from why do COM4, COM5 and COM6 mux's operate at a lower wattage output compared to the other mux's? We can receive all channels just fine but when it is raining we can loose channels on the lower output and sometimes the HD mux as well.

Is see that Crystal Palace is listed as expected but was wondering if Reigate transmitter, which is a relay of Crystal Palace, will have the additional HD channels?
