Thank you for all the information, Sky have told me there is nothing wrong so I'm very relieved to know that my picture is fuzzy because of changes to the Tacolneston transmitter!
To correct this I can get in to the RF Outlets screen and change the channel number but the change won't hold - every time I hit select or scroll down to the 'Save New Settings' option the screen goes to black and white fuzz then a solid blue. If I go back in the number has reverted to 68. Please can you help, thank you.

Jacko - I did as jb38 has said but couldn't get the channel I picked (21) to stick when I'd hit select, I could back-up out and it reverted to 68. In the end (very frustrated!) I hit select several times and it worked, just be aware that you'll lose the picture so don't panic that you've broken the box! If you then retune your TV by scanning automatically it should pick up a lovely non-fuzzy Sky channel.
I downloaded the software onto the box again first as I did think I may have broken it but this wasn't necessary.
As a tip, if your remote has a red light that shows when you press the numbers watch that when you're doing the 4-0-1-select sequence. You can then see for sure that the buttons are registering quickly or you may have to press harder.
Hope this helps! :o).
