Aubrey Lawson: If both strength and quality are level pegging at around 90% then don't touch the dish, as the levels used as an example are the minimum required for satisfactory operation, and you exceed them.
If not already done, remove your viewing card and wipe the gold contacts with a tissue, reinserting same on completion and checking the results, as a card defect can also cause problems of the type described.
If though nothing has changed and you are using a Sky+ HD type receiver? (signal bar indications on a standard box being purple/ pink(ish) try the "new install" procedure as described below. Although if that doesn't cure the problem either, then "if" at all possible, you should try and test the box out on someone else's dish, as your dishes LNB "might" be defective.
1 : Press "Services" on your Sky remote and you'll see the "Options" menu
highlighted.
2 : Press the right arrow to select "Settings" then press on.
3 : Press (in smooth succession) 0 - 1 - Select then you will see the
set up screen.
4 : Press the right arrow to highlight "Install" which then changes to New Install when you do this - press "select".
5: Follow the instructions on your TV screen until you see the message"Installation Complete" is displayed then press select.

Ken: No, as although Mux C54 is used by both Whitehawk Hill and the Saltdean relay, they do not serve the same purpose, C54 (LBN) on Whitehawk Hill being a local "commercial" Mux beamed towards the Brighton area, whereas C54 on the Saltdean transmitter is one of the three PSB (only) transmitters used by that Freeview "light" relay station, i.e: does not transmit commercial (only) programmes.

MikeB /philip Barrett: The manual I have for that model indicates that HD tuners are only fitted in the Satellite version, non Satellite types being fitted with a standard DVB-T tuner.
On checking around a few suppliers of this model, I failed to find any of the outlets advertising it as being capable of receiving HD transmissions, a couple of examples seen on the undermentioned link.

Philip: In addition to Briantist's query/advice, have you checked with any of the other residents in the block to ascertain if they are also experiencing similar problems as yourself?
Also, have you already installed the 4G filter in line with the jumper lead that goes into your TV's aerial input socket?
Finally, on the subject of 4G, have you actually been informed that you are located close to a number of 4G transmitters in the area?

Ken: Not really, as the Easterly limit for reception of C54 from Whitehawk Hill is shortly before the Greenways / Marine Drive Junction, whereas the Westerly limit for reception of C54 from Saltdean is around the Little Crescent /Marine Drive area, in other words a zero reception buffer zone exists between both stations to allow for spillage from either station, likewise they do not overlap anywhere.
This of course only applies to C54.

MikeB : I am relieved to see that you are also experiencing this problem, as I was hoping that some form of glitch hadn't occurred at my end.

Ken: Re: Power, only partially, as its a combination of this coupled to restrictions on the transmitter aerial.
On the subject of radiation patterns, yes! but though, you can see this for yourself by looking at the map on the very top of this page, a list of the multiplexes used Whitehawk Hill being seen on the left hand side, if you click on LBN(V) the radiation pattern / coverage area of this particular multiplex will be shown, zooming in slightly giving a somewhat more detailed image.

Mrs Sandra hawkins: Try placing the box in standby for 15 secs or so before disconnecting it from the mains, then whilst its in that state swap the two screwed connectors over, that is "if" you are referring to LNB1 & LNB2?
Finally, reconnect the box into the mains supply and allow it to go through its usual set up procedure, which by the way, can take a few minutes to complete.
Is the box in question a Sky+ or Sky+HD device?
Further advice dependant on feedback.

Fay Cooper : In addition to that said. The Dartmouth Relay (<1mile) is located at an angle of 248 degrees, the transmitter aerial being vertically polarised.
On the other hand, Beacon Hill is located @ 7 miles / 343 degrees, the transmitter aerial in this case being horizontally polarised.
