Adrian: Yes, you are quite correct as I have just tried it again and now see what you are meaning, which is a bit baffling as it worked OK before otherwise I would not have been able to view the reception predictor.
However, I am sure that Briantist (who owns and operates the site) will have picked up on this and as such will soon have the problem rectified.

mazbar: I suspect that the box your customer is referring to is a straight Sky HD box and not a Sky+ HD type, the former being a non-recording HD receiver and with only one LNB input, and because these are cut down versions of the Sky+HD models are not fitted RF modulators either.

Carl Amey: I had a check at the engineering notice board and see that Hannington has now been removed from the list but though with Rowridge now being mentioned, its HD service being off air for 50 minutes this afternoon.
As far as Hanningtons COM6/Ch47 is concerned the power that its presently operating at is the final situation and so nothing will alter on the transmission side of things, that said, if you are the type that can spare 30 minutes or so to experiment with your aerial then the next time your C47 signal takes a dive you might possibly find that the situation could be improved by slight repositioning of the aerial to the left or right of its present mounting position, this of course having to be carried out whilst your TV is left sitting on Ch47's signal check screen to provide instant feedback on the results of your actions.
The other point being, although I do realise that aerials in your area are seen to be facing towards Hannington, but though have you ever tried to receive a signal from Rowridge since it switched over to high powered operation? especially where it involves its vertically polarised 200Kw transmissions, as the terrain indicator shows a clear line of site situation up until a "very" short distance away from where you are located, and even although the signal is shown to be obstructed its not by any means severe when compared to some other situations I know where reception is possible albeit via diffraction, this being signal bending.
To check if reception is possible from Rowridge on the rear of your aerial even although its roughly 10 degrees out, you should try a test by going into your TV or boxes "manual" tuning facility (should it have one!) and enter Rowridges COM6 on mux Ch28 but do NOT press search or scan, as on most devices if its possible to pick up a signal the strength / quality that its being received at will be seen.

Christine Boden: Your TV or box has possibly picked up the Bilsdale transmitter rather than Emley Moor which I assume that you normally receive from? if after you had carried out the auto-tune you were not given a "regional choice" option? then you might eventually have to manually tune in the channels required, but first of all try this method which sometimes works.
First of all remove the aerial and carry out an auto-tune to blank out the channels already stored, once completed take hold of the aerial connector and carry out another auto-tune whilst at the same time carefully observing the progress bar, then and as soon as its seen pass around Ch35, or about half way along its travel, immediately reconnect the aerial again and hopefully this will only allow Emley Moor to be picked up.

mazbar / KB Aerials: Thanks to you both for clarifying the issue, my initial thoughts on the subject being that its just bound to be on the cards that numerous Sky box users who use their boxes RF modulator to feed the signal into a number of bedrooms are going to have a rude awakening if their box is updated, however although the Global iO port RF replicator will obviously take care of the analogue RF side of the equation, but if indeed its also capable of controlling magic eyes? then the situation is not quite so dastardly as was first thought.
KB (Keith) I was having a look at your earlier posting (12th / 11.46pm) where you had mentioned these Global devices, but though I am not quite sure if you were just pointing the device out to Mazbar or have used one on a multiroom box and have personally witnessed a magic eye controlling the box via the Global unit?

Carl Amey: Well although I am certainly pleased to see that your Ch47 problem has now been rectified by the changes you have made such as replacing the HDMI cable and generally repositioning the leads, however its still a bit puzzling why the problem you were experiencing had an apparent time factor built into it "if" none of your equipment was being moved around.
Thanks for your report regarding the test on Rowridges Ch28, this actually being quite a good indication when taking into account the fact that you are obtaining this on the rear of an aerial that is positioned around 10 degrees or so out from a true 180 reverse pick up, and so its very likely that the signal quality would greatly improve if at any time the aerial was correctly positioned, although this is really something that is a bit academic anyway now that your reception is back to normal.

KB Aerials / Mazbar: The set up instructions suggest to me that the RF channel changing is achieved on the Global device using exactly the same coding line that was previously fed into the Sky boxes internal modulator, in other words just as if the Sky boxes RF modulator had been removed from the box and positioned externally but with its data control line still being sourced from exactly the same circuitry within the box but via the IO port.
I see that Amazon would appear to have been advertising these units specifically for use with multi-room boxes as seen on the undermentioned link.

Adrian: I am unaware as to where you were attempting to enter your post code into? however the post code you entered on "site settings" at the top right hand of this page worked perfectly OK, and with Crystal Palace @ 54 Km / 254 degrees being indicated as your best bet for reception at your location.
That said though, if you reside in a new'ish area then whatever you are attempting to enter your post code into might not have been updated, as the RT investigation site (to name but one) is particularly critical in this respect.
