Below are all of jb38's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.Mike: Yes, as each of the two inputs on the diplexer caters for a certain range of frequencies and attenuating any outside of the range, the problem being that COM7 (C33) is not in the range applicable for the reception of Mendips normal transmissions as its in the range used by Rowridge.
Unfortunately diplexer's cannot be used in situations such as this, the only option being to run individual cables from each of the two aerials.

Mike : In addition to that said, see if you can receive any signal if you carry out a "manual" tune on C31 Rowridges COM7 transmitter.

Mike: In that case, then there is no reason why you cannot receive Mendip's COM7, that is unless the signal level received on C33 is that low that the slight loss introduced by the diplexer is enough to cause it to drop under the threshold for reception.
Of course DUK's reception predictor does not indicate that you can receive any signal from the COM7 transmitter at your location, although the predictor might not have been updated since COM7 increased in power from 17.5 Kw up to the level presently indicated of 72.35Kw compared to the six other Muxes on 100Kw, 72.35Kw not being exactly low powered compared to the differential on some other main stations, e.g: Rowridges (H) PSB's on 200Kw whereas its COM7 is only on 24.41Kw. References to power outputs taken from that indicated by DUK.
On the subject of the diplexer, hindsight is a great thing! insomuch that it might have been better if the aerial installer had just fitted an aerial combiner rather than diplexer, as then the only attenuation would have been the slight insertion loss as the signals passed though the device rather than on each of the two group determined inputs.

Ian: This question appears to be somewhat academic at this time when your reception possibilities are checked using the post code provided, as its presently not being transmitted by either of the two main stations that are indicated as covering your area, namely Rowridge and Mendip.

Ian Cartwright: Although that its obviously a bit late in the day to say this because of you having taken out another contract with Sky, but the best way for anyone to check what they will, or will not, be able to receive if they cancel their subscription is simply by removing the card from the box then running though the EPG channel list, as about the only channel I can think of that requires the card to be inserted in order to view it is Sony TV on 157, as although this "is" a free channel its transmission is encrypted for legal reasons.
The card is also required in order for you to be able to view the news services applicable to your area, but thats not really by a subscription as such, because when Sky cancels the card it automatically reverts to being a free to view card.
The only aspect that will change is that your Sky+ box will revert to being a normal box, as the recording / playback side of it will cease to function.

Steve Coombs : Thanks for the update, I fully understand your frustration regarding the offending trees being protected by having a preservation order on them, as even although many dastardly things can happen under the hours of darkness, its always guaranteed that someone somewhere would be observing any activities that might take place.
By the way, although many people loath having to make contact with any of their neighbours, but though have you made any local enquiries to find out if anyone else in your area is suffer from similar reception problems as yourself?
Anyway, will look forward to your report..

Michael: As a back up to that previously said, you may find the info on the undermentioned Sky link to be of interest. Sky Help: Your Sky TV PIN

RBunting: Challenge on Freesat is on EPG / LCN programme number 145, if this number is not seen on your listings then carry out a first time installation on your box, this procedure requiring you to enter your post code, the reason for being to enable you to view the news channels / services appropriate for your location.

Michael: No, its the last four digits in that card, but as you have already mentioned that those numbers do not work, then the number must either have been changed (via Sky) or the card being used in the box contains access data that doesnt match up with the box the card is being used in, the two being tied in together.
I did suspect that you weren't a Sky subscriber, and thats why I mentioned "expect questions" etc (to some its a grilling!) if you phoned them, but Sky's subscription viewing system is virtually foolproof and there are no ways around the type of problem you have except by consulting them, which of course, I fully appreciate, is something that you cannot do because of your status of being a non subscriber.
