Sam: You are indicated on the trade predictor as being able to have good reception on all muxes from either Craigkelly (10 mls / 354 degrees) or Blackhill (26 mls / 260 degrees) and so you could be receiving your signal from any of the two stations.
To verify which station you are receiving from carry out a signal strength / quality test whilst on BBC1 and you should see the mux transmitter channel number associated with the readings being indicated, if Craigkelly its Ch27 whereas Blackhill its Ch46, you could also try the test on ITV3 and where in this case Blackhill is Ch41 whereas Ch42 if Craigkelly.
Are you sure that the building work being carried out has not disturbed your aerial system?
I will say that you are located as being only 1 mile away from the Canongate relay transmitter and the fact that this was constructed purely because of local reception difficulties then the two main stations mentioned may not be that particularly strong signal wise.
Further advice dependant on signal check findings.

MH: Unfortunately that model is listed as being an "HD Ready" device, this meaning that its capable of showing HD images but only if they are fed from an external HD receiver via the HDMI socket.

MH: Although I can see that you have tried various things in an attempt to resolve the problem did this also included trying a manual tune of either of these channels? as although I am not 100% sure about your particular models tuning facilities, but generally if you go into the tuning menu / manual tune and enter the mux channel number that you want to scan, because as soon as this number is entered the signal level will appear without actually having to scan, although in your model you may have to.
I would suggest that you blank out the tuners memory before carrying out this procedure, blanking of the memory done by auto-tuning without the aerial being connected. (or another factory reset)

MH: The other thing I also meant to say was if when you were informed that the PCB had been changed it has to be assumed that the tuner is part of it, as the tuner is the prime suspect with this type of problem.
The other thing that crossed my mind was that the signal level you receive in the OX14 area could be a little on the high side and which could cause problems in a tuner with an iffy oscillator, so if you have access to a set top aerial I would be interested to know if anything was received scanning with that rather than your main aerial.
And regarding the main aerial, taking it that there isn't any type of booster being used? as if there is then for a test try by-passing it.

MH: Best policy! although just from my own interest point of view the first chance I get I intend to have a look at the service sheet to see if the tuner is part of the main PC board, which of course is quite common on smaller TV's, because only a defective tuner can cause your problem as far as the fault being within the TV is concerned.
The other aspect being that possibly the tuner isn't available as a spare part as yet and this is why the entire board was changed.
Although one final test I would like you to try is to connect the offending TV straight onto the aerial and not via any splitter that you might be using to feed your other boxes / TV's, re-tuning it of course after having connected it directly into the main aerial.

Douggie B: Without knowing the model of TV involved you should temporarily remove the aerial and follow this by carrying out an auto-tune, as on most equipment this will blank out the tuners memory, then after completion of the auto tune when no channels will have been found, reconnect the aerial again and carry out another retune and when hopefully the EPG listing will have changed.
Should though by any chance this still not give the desired result then you will have to carry out a "factory reset" or "default setting" on your TV followed by an auto tune, as that is virtually guaranteed to resolve the issue.

Pauline Todd: Well a problem thats sometimes experienced when feeding a Sky boxes RF2 into another room when using the buildings pre-installed internal coax link is that the eye's LED is found not to be illuminated.
This is nearly always caused by the wall plate fitted by the installer being of the isolated variety whereby any voltage on the rear of the socket will not be present on the sockets output, and of course being exactly the reverse of what's required as voltage on the sockets output is essential.
Maybe you could confirm, or not as the case may be, if non illumination of the eye is what you are experiencing? because if it is you will not get over the problem except by purchasing a "straight through" (non-isolated) wall plate and swapping them over.

Carole: Just had a check at the technical specifications for that model and regret to say that according to the info its only fitted with a DVB-T tuner, devices capable of actually receiving an HD signal have to be of the DVB-T2 specification.
The TV will of course will be able to provide an HD picture, but only if its being fed into the set via an HDMI socket.
