david wadge: Although the mobile phone mast referred to at the side of Stirtloe Lane operates on 900Mhz (as well as 1800Mhz) I feel though that your problem might more be related to the fact that the last leg of the signal path from Sandy appears to be partially skimming along treetops and areas of general greenery, trees being notorious for killing the more important aspect of a digital signal, that of its quality.
The programmes you complain about having problems with are on Sandy's mux Ch51 (Quest / ITV3 etc) and with Yesterday / Film 4 etc being on mux Ch48, and so you should carry out a signal check on both muxes by either (1) carrying out a signal check whilst viewing the programme, or (2) going into your TV / boxes tuning menu, selecting "manual tune" and entering Ch51 but NOT followed by pressing search or scan, as the signal strength / quality will normally be indicated after having entered the channel number, make a note of the indications seen then try the same test again using mux Ch48 and once again noting the readings, which by the way should be observed for about a minute or so to enable a more accurate assessment of the situation to be made, giving an update on results once completed.
Needless to say, this check should only be carried out whilst you are actually experiencing the problems referred to.

Grant: Could you please clarify regarding what's actually meant by "watch TV in my own room"? as this could be taken as inferring that you are possibly using a shared aerial, also when you say "by linking a cable to the HDMI socket", HDMI sockets on what devices?
By the way, as Dave Lindsay has pointed out you are making postings under two different headings, that of Durris and Gartley Moor, as I had replied to you on the 21st under Gartley and with Dave Lindsay and KMJ,Derby replying under Durris.

Could you please clarify regarding what's actually meant by "watch TV in my own room"? as this could be taken as inferring that you are possibly using a shared aerial, also when you say "by linking a cable to the HDMI socket", HDMI sockets on what devices?

Colin: You will not get any indications channel 21 because that is not a channel used by Winter Hill, this being the only station listed as covering your area.
You should press: menu / set up / service set up / then enter your pin code (0000 if not altered) / then select: full scan replace existing services.
The receiver will search for new services, although if you do not have any stored then that means "all" services.

Colin: Also meant to say, that if you wish to try manually tuning in any of Winter Hills mux channels (as listed below) then change the default setting of 2K to 8K, as 2K is no longer used in the UK. Winter Hills mux channels / 50 (BBC) - 59 (ITV1) - 58 (ITV3 etc) - 49 (Pick TV / Dave etc) - 55 (Film4 / ITV4 etc).

s taylor: Your Sky contract also included allowing you access to the recording features of your Sky+ box along with your ability to view package channels, when you cancelled the contract Sky removed the access codes necessary to enable these features to operate.
If you wish to retain the ability to record / playback then you can take out a contract with Sky purely for that purpose for around £10.25 per month, many choosing not to do and purchasing a Freesat twin tuner recorder as the dish is compatible with both systems.

Charlotte: You best policy would be to first of all check with a neighbour to find out if the problem is confined to your installation or not, as maybe others are also experiencing the same as yourself, if they are then its the landlords problem.

Francis: Screw type sockets are intended for use with "F" connector plugs which are used mainly for satellite reception purposes such as Sky or Freesat, and so the obvious question would be whether or not the house you moved into is fitted with a Sky dish?

Chris Green: Irrespective of what type of installation is involved, the main thing to remember is that a 4G filter has to be the first thing in line from the aerial, anyone using a mast head amplifier (which you don't) obviously having to fit it between the aerial and the amplifier so that the latter is not amplifying the offending signal.

Adam: Its not really possible for anyone to be able to give any form of constructive advice without having knowledge of your post code, or alternatively one from somewhere nearby such as a shop / post office etc, as only then can the reception predictors info be used to assess the situation.
But though, speaking in general terms your TV or box should be completely reset before carrying out an auto-tune, reset on various brands meaning, "factory reset" / "default setting" / "reinstall all services" or "first time installation"
Further advice dependant on reply.
