On 9 November 2011 we had to retune to receive all BBC channels on channel 55 and ITV on 59. This is a strong signal and has worked well, since then on an intermittent basis we either see weakened signals or have lost BBC channels, on looking at the channel list the set has automatically retuned to channel 28 and 23 for ITV, which is for Aldeburgh, a weak transmitter for our location. On retuning back to 55 using manual tuning all is well. Can you suggest why this is happening and is it possible to stop a TV auto retuning after the first installation of correct channels. I have a Toshiba 37RV5550 LED. We do occasionally get pixellation and short transmission breaks on 55 however that is par for this location and used to occur before retuning.

We tune to Tacolneston Transmitter (not Aldeburgh). Over the period Saturday 18 May to Monday 20 May 2013 (and even this morning) we have had regular breakdowns in transmission and loss of picture and sound on signal for BBC1, BBC2, BBC3, and BBC4 all on channel 55. Prior to this there were no serious problems of this nature. Nothing obvious has changed in the house or nearby area and the problem is found on different TVs in our house. We have gone through the Freeview reset procedure and checked for Freeview intermittent interference as you suggest.
We live in the Southwold and Reydon area.
1. Is this problem unique to our local geographical area or has this problem been noticed across Norfolk & Suffolk.
2. Have you any explanation as to what the problem might be?

My aerial has been directed towards Bluebell Hill Transmitter by the TV Aerial Technician. My Post Code is TN5 6HZ. Normally I receive all channels with no problems. Occasionally, often during periods of inclement weather we lose the BBC and ITV HD channels but not the BBC and ITV SD channels. Can you suggest why. Many thanks for your help.
