Sarah C.Chatham.Has the weather been warm and sunny in your locality just recently. If it has then atmospherics or the inversion effect was the likely cause recently !

Steve,Witham. The most likely cause is atmospheric conditions or to rephrase the inversion effect !
Or are you still using a group B (yellow tipped) aerial ?
If you are then you may have to replace your old antenna with a new group E (brown tipped) semi-wideband aerial, with new copper-copper black coloured co-ax cable and new preferably brass co-ax aerial plug !

Ben,Clacton on Sea.
I have just checked and from what i am aware there are no problems reported at Sudbury main transmitter whatsoever !
Are you still using an old group B aerial, which could explain why you are unable to pick up ArqA on frequency 60 at Sudbury ?
And you stated that in your earlier post you lost everything on Channel 30 at 8pm tonight, well Sudbury does not use frequency 30,but Crystal Palace transmitter does use BBCB (HD) on frequency 30 itself. Are your aerials diplexed as such,a group A aerial horizontally polarised aimed at Crystal Palace, and most likely an old group B aerial horizontally polarised aimed at Sudbury ?
Then again the inversion effect is another possibility as South East England experienced settled weather just recently.

Colin.Burham,ME1 3SJ.As you reside within 2 miles of the main Bluebell Hill transmitter itself a Log Periodic which is a group W wideband aerial anyway, will be sufficient,or if you are fortunate enough either a set-top aerial or even a metal coathanger or small screwdriver stuck into your appliance's aerial socket should do as well.If on the other hand you live low down in a valley and normal reception is problematic then possibly as a last resort a good quality group B or semi-wideband group E Yagi 18B (yellow tipped) or Yagi 18E (brown tipped) are alternatives.
However looking thru google maps around your postcode locality there is a lack of external terrestrial aerials in view, this could give an indication of a strong terrestrial TV reception you are location in as such.
One ultimate point though, concerning the ArqB multiplex on frequency 54 from Bluebell Hill mast that yourself and Hilary who resides nearby herself (probably in ME1 3SJ herself too) and maybe a few others are experiencing difficulties as such, one possibility here could be a single frequency interference issue as such,or the recent settled weather that much of South-East England enjoyed experienced atmospheric or the inversion effect which may have played a part in the difficulties concerning the ArqB/COM6 multiplex on frequency 54 from Bluebell Hill.

Ben.Clacton-on-Sea,CO16 8QJ.If as you state there are problems with Sudbury, are you still experiencing them at this moment in time while i am texting this reply to you.Is your aerial plus its cable and co-ax plug up to date.Albeit unlikely though but there is the possibly that the nearby new Clacton relay near your location may to some degree be causing some glitches now and again to your normal reception if your aerial is aimed at Sudbury itself.
But as i mentioned in my earlier reply to you the inversion effect here too is another possibly due to the recent settled spell over South East England.
Im sure the true engineering experts on here,Briantist,Mike Dimmick,JB38,KMJ Derby, etc, will offer even more qualified advice and assistance to you about your current predicament if you are still convinced that there is a fault on the Sudbury transmitter itself.

Russell Battle:If as you state a new aerial is on the cards,if you reside in a poor signal/marginal signal area within Sudbury itself then either a semi-wideband group E (brown colour tipped) Yagi 18E or group E X-Beam XB16E with black coloured copper-copper co-ax cable and superior quality brass co-ax plugs will give many years of good quality Freeview service from Sudbury.
I would also look up the ATV Aerials and Television of Sheffield website for good quality advice and aerial accessories from them, they are in my honest option the UK's No1 aerial retailer they are the best, forget the rest !
