Do I need to aim my aerial at Black Mountain or Carnmoney transmitters to receive RTE, etc. Or do I need another aerial? I have a standard aerial up on roof. At the moment I cannot get a signal in the 600s upwards but get the multiplexes from Divis - some 80 channels.

My thanks to Dave Lindsay and Peter Henderson for replying in such great detail. This has provdied me with some more understanding of the possible issues at play. In the meantime I have tested my Freeview HD i-can easy box ata freind's house a half a mile away as I have discovered that my neighbour doesn't receive the BM channel 39 from his FULL HD TV although post checker says he can. On testing at home my box produces no signal on CH39 or any other channel over 29. My aerai is a yagi (looked at your links) which would seem to limit me to these channels unless I try and realign aerial before buying new one. To try Clermont what direction should I aim at? Would this lose me the UK channels or could I still get those? Regards Frank

Bangor
Hi, just bought i-can easy Freeview HD set top box and receiving 80 channels includng HD channels here in Bangor. However unable to receive RTE channels. Freeview UK website states that reception is varaiable for my postcode and house number. My neigbours across the cul-de sac tho are given a green for reception. Do I need to upgrade my aerial?
