Good for Karen, if this means there is less money in football and players cannot command such eye-watering sums as £85 milliom in transfer fees and astrnomical individual salaries and end up with sums more akin to the rest of us mere mortals (especially when they are employed in an activity they enjoy), THEN SO BE IT !!
I hope she wins her appeal in a few weeks.
It's also good for SKY to have a bit more competition, which I'm sure they will ulimately crush, if their track record is anything to go by. Their income from me still remains @ £0.00 however.

"Nedbod: That doesn't make them digital in any way shape or form."
I never said it did make them DIGITAL Brian, hence the word "NO" at the start of my post !!

Dave : If everybody paid SKY (and all the other pay TV channels for that matter) £0.00, LIVE football would return to free to air TV and SKY would go out of business. There are plenty of free to air channels now.
This will never happen, but if it did, we would all be quids in apart from the footballers of course.

Trying to get justice out of COMET is impossible. They once sold me a Widescreen Philips TV which was faulty from DAY 1 and eventaully replaced it with an even worse second hand model from "CURRYS" which arrived in a CURRYS VAN !!! (who aren't even part of the same group as Comet), simply because the manager of Currys was a mate !! COMET refused to replace this with a new one, when I discovered the colour was faulty on it and it had burned in images on the screen, saying I had left it past their 10 day cooling off period which was nonesense. After three years of complaints I gave up.
I have never been near COMET since or CURRYS for that matter, chosing a B&O set which had a perfect analogue picture.

I take therefore that they do not either have the capacity or the money to relay the correct region on the +1 service (or both), with a separate black box for ITV1 West & ITV1 Westcountry.

Bit late now this was back in 2003. I got so worked up at the time I don't want to relive any more angst. I have just put it down to experience and I don't want to experience either COMET or CURRYS ever again. I should have guessed when the two thugs who delivered the replacement wouldn't explain why there was no paperwork with it and spent more time trying to sell me SKY than explaining how to use my what turned out to be not NEW tele.

Does the Llangollen transmitter broadcast DAB yet ? It's FM services can be received very well in this part of Cheshire (in some pockets better than Holme Moss such as Rainow, Macclesfield Forest and Fools Nook), but no DAB here ?

I was listening to the TODAY programme on BBC R4 this morning and they were talking about reducing the amount of adverts per hour down from the current 8 minutes on the main commercial channels and by even more on the other digital commercial channels to improve "... the viewer experience...".
How does three (or sometimes more) ad breaks of 4 minutes and 15 seconds (minimum) on ITV1, Channel 4 & Channel 5 = 8 minutes ?? I am on a different planet in a different decade.
I make it at least 12 minutes and 45 seconds per hour not 8 minutes ? and that doesn't include promos, trailers and sponsored programme inserts "... brought to you by BT Vision.... !! etc.

SeaBee I still think ignoring customers is an absolutely apalling practice for a store and a walkout is quite justified in these instances. Alexander would have walked out too if he he was around today wanting to buy a tele or a mobile phone. I reckon he'd be a bit of a grumpy old man too about the direction his invention had taken, especially he he was on a Northern train in the rush hour listening to the verbal hogwash I have to put up with. He would also probably smile, like me, at how much money some people waste having to pay additional re-dial and re-connection costs as their mobile signal dies in the same tunnels every day, thick or what !!
