nick horrex: Every ITV region in England is available in HD on Freesat. ITV have yet to complete the rollout of their HD regions on Freeview (despite reportedly paying for the upgrade that enabled the BBC to complete their HD regions on Freeview) and no date has yet been announced for this to happen.

Brian Butterworth: Are you able to update the site's Geo-IP database? I'm been unable to post comments from my YouFibre broadband since switching provider several months ago. Been resorting to using my tablet's EE 4G SIM to post on this site. The error I get is:
Sorry, comments are closed on this page during a database upgrade.
Static IP in the 149.40.x.x range.

Teletext

Elaine Sealey: Teletext/Ceefax closed in the UK when digital switchover was completed in 2012. Do you mean the red button text service? All it provides is pages copied from the BBC's website, there is no content on red button text that isn't available on the BBC website or apps.

Caradon Hill (Cornwall, England) DAB transmitter
Thursday 23 January 2025 11:55PM

MJW Gage: You've posted on the Caradon Hill DAB page, but over on the Caradon Hill Freeview page there is a warning from last week of Pixelation or flickering on some or all channels, so it may be that whatever has generated that warning notice is continuing this week.

Have you checked for any loose or damages cables or connections behind your TV? Any fault or bad connection will show up more easily when the transmitter power is reduced.

Sky boxes receive their channels from satellites thousands of miles above the equator and cannot be affected by any fault or engineering work taking place at any terrestrial transmitter. Have you tried powering the Sky box off at the mains for a few minutes, then turning it back on?

Please can you explain what you mean by power sharing? Transmitter power can be reduced due to a fault or engineering work, but it isn't shared with anything.

Winter Hill (Bolton, England) transmitter
Friday 24 January 2025 5:30PM

Leonard Horsfall: The Todmorden relay is a lite transmitter covering around 3,000 homes, which only broadcasts the PSB1, PSB2 & PSB3 multiplexes. There is little chance of more channels being added as the population covered is too small to be worthwhile for any of the commercial broadcasters.

Peter Moon: I've just read on another forum that all of the Great! TV channels were off air earlier across Freeview, satellite and cable. Apparently they returned around an hour ago.

Christine Mitchell: The Millburn Muir transmitter which covers Dumbarton has been off air due to a fault since yesterday. Unfortunately the BBC don't give any further information as to the cause or how long it will take to fix.

R. Baird: The Millburn Muir transmitter has been off air due to a fault since yesterday. Unfortunately there is no further information available as to the cause (very possibly power lines down in the storm) or how long it is likely to take to be fixed.

nick horrex: ITV Anglia HD is on channel 103 on Freesat if the TV or box is set to a postcode in the Anglia region. There are no ITV SD channels left on satellite (apart from a few +1 channels).
