Tony Hill: Retuning will never fix a problem with a weak signal, all it does is delete the channels already tuned and searches for them again. The postcode you provided in an earlier post is predicted to have a weak signal for COM7 from Rowridge and as you're already using an amplifier it seems unlikely that much can be done to improve the situation.

Eva: This is not Travel Channel's channels website, this website is for independent technical help with TV and radio reception problems. Your feedback about the channel would be better sent to the broadcast via their own website and they are unlikely to see it here. For advice on your loss of signal, please provide a postcode so we can see which transmitter you're using, where you are in relation to it and your predicted reception for your location.

paul: Sky can't turn off any free to air channels. If it is affecting two different boxes then you have a fault with either your dish or cabling. Start by turning off each Sky box at the mains and unscrew the satellite cables at the back and check that there are no strands of the outer screening braid touching the inner connector causing a short circuit, then reconnect the cables and turn each box back on and wait 5-10 minutes for the box to go through its startup process. If your channels haven't returned then follow the route of the cables from the box to the dish, looking for any signs of damage.

Pj Gallagher: The last entries showing above your posts show that engineering work was taking place around a month ago, with nothing reported since then. If you have had signal problems for several weeks, there is almost certainly something wrong with your aerial system. It certainly isn't anything to do with this website which has no connection with any broadcaster or transmitter company.

Neil Riley: You could if the Freesat box has a SCART output and the DVD recorder has a SCART input.

R Murchie: The capacity used for BBC4 HD on PSB3/BBCB during the Olympics was only available due to CBBC HD being temporarily moved to COM7 (BBC4 HD and CBBC HD effectively switched places). As CBBC HD is broadcast until 9pm each evening and BBC4 HD starts at 7pm they are unable to share capacity on PSB3 and there isn't enough spare capacity for another HD channel on PSB3 unless picture quality is reduced on the existing channels. This is why the BBC are using commercial capacity on COM7 for CBeebies HD, BBC4 HD and BBC News HD.

alfonso: The capacity that was offered for sale is the post 9pm capacity shared with CBBC HD (formerly used by BBC3 HD). Whatever way you try to look at it there simply isn't capacity available for BBC4 HD on PSB3, otherwise the BBC would have used it for BBC4 HD/CBeebies HD rather than paying for commercial capacity on COM7. To put it another was, if COM7/8 didn't exist we would not have BBC4 HD on Freeview at all.

Stevens-Astell: Either your signal strength isn't strong enough or you are suffering from interference. Retuning won't fix either as the channel is already correctly tuned. What are the signal strength and quality readings when viewing RT?

Martin Matthews: I think you might be looking at ITV HD which carries the Central region on Freeview in the South West (ITV Westcountry West HD & South West HD are currently only available via satellite but will be on Freeview eventually). If you change to channel 3 you should have ITV Westcountry South West. You certainly aren't within range of any Central region transmitters.
