Roy: The owner of this website has not been able to keep the 1,100+ transmitter listings up to date with all of the changes taking place due to the 700MHz clearance programme. There have been on screen notices on all of the affected channels advising viewers of their closure, or the need to retune to continue receiving relocated channels (although many TVs will handle the retune automatically).

Richard Tinson: COM4/SDN is on UHF channel 33 from Emley Moor. The owner of this website hasn't been able to keep up with all of the changes taking places across over 1,100 transmitters due to the 700MHz clearance programme.

Roy: Upcoming frequency changes and planned engineering work is listed under Platform Management on the Corporate section of the Freeview website, along with a full up to date list of channel number allocations.

Channels moving from one multiplex to another is a commercial decision taken between the broadcaster and multiplex operator, which does not involve Freeview or Digital UK Limited. Such moved tend to be announced by the broadcasters themselves via onscreen messages and in most cases on the broadcaster's own websites, which generally get reported on various broadcasting news websites.

David McKay: It's down to money and what level of coverage each broadcaster is prepared to pay for, there is no one deciding which channels each individual town/village should receive. Broadcasting to all 1,100+ transmitters costs more than broadcasting to the around 90 transmitters that get the main commercial multiplexes, whilst the extra HD multiplex which broadcasts from 25 main transmitters costs less still. Flim4 +1 was moved from the PSB3 multiplex (which is broadcast from every transmitter) to COM5 which reaches around 90% of UK households. TBN were prepared to pay the extra costs of being on every transmitter (reaching 98.5% of UK households) and took the vacated space on PSB3.

REG HARGRAVE: Freeview will carry on as normal, no changes have been announced for 31st July. If you mean what will happen to free TV licences, there has been no announcement yet of any extension, although there is some suggestion that the they may be extended further.

Dave: Because Pick's owners (Sky) aren't prepared to continue to pay for their +1 channel to be broadcast on Freeview.

davidp: Times Radio is on the SDL multiplex (it appeared last week). If you can already receive Absolute 80s then retune/rescan your DAB radio and Times Radio should appear in your station list.

Andy Humphreys: BBC 1 and 2 have never left channels 1 and 2 on Freeview. The most likely explanations are either that you didn't retune when the transmitter you're receiving changed frequency (you haven't given a location so no one can know which transmitter you're using) or that you have a fault in your aerial system somewhere. A full postcode would allow us to see the predicted reception at your location, which may allow more specific advice to be given.

Francis James Blackwell: Forces TV has moved from COM8 to COM7, ahead of COM8 closing by the end of this month. Can you receive BBC News HD on 107, which is also on COM7?
