It costs a lot of money to make the actual programmes and relatively little to broadcast them, particularly when the satellite and terrestrial capacity was otherwise mostly left unused. The majority of BBC Three viewers will probably continue to mainly watch via iPlayer but there is now far more content and a more prominent home for some of the live sports coverage which was previously relegated to the red button.
The shortwave services for Ukraine are funded by a grant from the government rather than the licence fee and were a response to the threat of Ukraine's domestic broadcasters being forced off air by the Russian invasion.

Helen Chan: There are no reported faults or engineering work that I can see listed at Sandy Heath. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? If the problem is happening at the same time every weekend it may be a sign that you are suffering from electrical interference from something in your home or nearby which is only used at the weekend. Common sources of electrical noise can include things like cheap LED lighting, power tools or anything with an electric motor.

Jonathan: What do the signal strength and quality levels on your TV show? If you have high strength but low quality that would suggest that the tuner is being overloaded by the strong signal, so rather than getting a better aerial you may well need to reduce the signal strength. Have you tried connecting the lead to the TV without the aerial attached to the other end and check the signal strength measurement? You may need to fit an attenuator between the aerial and TV, you only need between 75%-90% strength so try a 6db, 9db or even 12db attenuator which can be bought for a few pounds on Amazon or elsewhere.

/Barbara Northwood: What do you mean by signal blocked? Are you getting a broken up picture or is nothing coming through at all? Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Is the aerial on the roof of the tower block part of a shared communal system or is it your own individual aerial connected directly to your TV? Have you checked whether anyone else in the building is suffering with the same problem? If so, contact whoever is responsible for maintaining the communal aerial system and get them to send someone to investigate/fix it.

MR L HARDISTY: YouTube and iPlayer both use your internet connection, whereas Freeview is received via an aerial. If neither are working that would suggest that you have multiple faults or you may have some very serious cause of interference nearby. Does it go off at the same time every evening? It could be being caused by something operating on a timer.

Mal McGar: This website has nothing to do with operating any channel or transmitter, this is an independent technical help website. If you provide a full postcode we can check what you are predicted to receive. There is a full list of channels including which multiplex carries each channel on the Freeview corporate website (see link below). If you can tell us which channels you are no longer able to receive that may help identify the cause.

andrina mallon: TalkTalk don't have anything to do with providing the signal received by your communal aerial. Have you checked whether any neighbours are having the same problem? You need to report the problem to whoever is responsible for maintaining the communal aerial system.

P Pierce: All 4 is a catchup/on demand service which is available as an app on various TV, boxes and sticks rather than a channel. It won't be on a Sky+/HD box as those don't support apps. If you have Sky Q or Sky Glass it should be found under the Apps heading somewhere if it is available.

saeed: Try contacting broadcasters directly. This is an independent technical help site which has no connection with any channel or broadcaster so they are unlikely to see your message here.

Peter: I'm not sure who you contacted as there isn't a single Freeview authority, there are in fact various different organisations involved in operating TV services under the Freeview banner (i.e. transmitter company, multiplex operators, broadcasters, Digital UK, etc). Marlborough is a lite transmitter which only covers around 4,000 homes which isn't enough potential audience for commercial broadcasters to be interested in making channels suc as Dave or Drama available. Getting no signal messages would indicate that you have a fault somewhere - it could be as simple as a loose connection behind your TV or could be something more serious such as your aerial becoming damaged or corroded and letting rain water in to the cable etc.
If you provide a full postcode we can check whether you might be able to get more channels by pointing your aerial at another transmitter, otherwise you could look at getting Freesat which would give you most of the same channels available on Freeview, but via Free To Air satellite which does not require a subscription.
