Craigkelly (Fife, Scotland) transmitter

Hello,

I have a Group K aerial for Craigkelly and have lost Four HD, because it went to channel 55 or 56; above 48 anyway. Thank you for suggesting that I may be able to get a new wideband aerial, but I recall I had issues with Angus interference, and it's a hassle I don't need, as it's quite hard to tune the aerial where I am.

I have looked at the coverage checker, probably not in enough detail, but I cannot figure out if this is temprorary (and for how long).

Is there somewhere a clear and concise description of the plan for Craigkelly?

Thanks!

StevensOnln1: thanks; I contacted them and have an appointment with them. Fingers crossed they will supply a decent aerial. Interesting to see if they will re-instate the bird-guards.

MikeP: thanks for the link. I cannot readily see the "expected in future" channels and the listing is missing (or so I think) BBC FOUR HD and channel 56, which is disconcerting. It confirms that I need a wideband, which I do not currently have.

MikeP: Ok, I got it now: in the "Detailed view" there are some rows that show differences to values, maybe a couple of small changes per row in the case for Craigkelly. It is unclear to me what there will really mean in practice, I guess we suck it and see at the time.

Still annoyed I need a new aerial and a wideband at that, but hey ho, another one to suck and see.

Hello again,

Just to say that Freeview organised a company to come around. They turned up they day they said they would, seemed to have decent equipment, showed interest in resolving my problem and were pleasant to have around. They replaced my K-group aerial with a wideband that they had in their van and then replaced my masthead amplifier. FourHD works well, C4+1 not so, but I think that's as expected in this transmitter.

All that free of charge. Still annoyed at the decision to move us out of the K group.

Since the rearrangements for 5G I am struggling with BBC Four HD. Will things improve when we lose 55 and 56 in November?

Thanks Chris and sorry for the delay in answering. I read about c55 going under How will the Craigkelly (Fife, Scotland) transmission frequencies change over time? above. Thanks in particular for the Four news; no point changing my aerial if it's to go.

Ach well...
