Shaun, if you are experiencing troubles with the higher frequencies, it points to a coaxial cable fault. I would check it out or have it replaced.

@Shaun. I have found problems with coaxial cable similar to the symptoms you have described. Incidentally, have you fed more than one point from the same aerial without some form of splitter?

Will the Sheffield TX be 2k or 8k after switch over as Digital UK states 2k. Can this be right?

Phil, I think you would get the answer from posing on www.thegreenbutton.com which is dedicated to computer issues.

Mike Roberts: I live in the East Riding of Yorkshire Post Code YO42 2QG in a town at the foot of the Wolds and can receive Winter Hill, Bilsdale, Belmont, Waltham and of cause Emley Moor. Signal very weak from Winter Hill and Waltham though. Having problems with channels disappearing from Emley and having to manually retune again. This started to happen after the Belmont first stage switch over. Roll on Emley's switch over.

What I cannot understand about the Cave Wold DAB TX is that coverage extends well into the North Sea, yet inland towards York, coverage is sporadic to say the least. York and North Yorkshire do not have a local DAB service, so could benefit from better coverage from Cave Wold.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I know this but why does it cover Scarborough and the north sea, also not it's intended service area. You struggle to receive this MUX in parts of Pocklington and Wilberfoss, and these are in the intended service area.

Thank you again for your reply Brian. If you knew the area you would know that York can 'see' Cave Wold, that Pocklington and Wilberfoss is in the County formally known as Humberside, and that Scarborough has never and will never be in Humberside. Don't get me wrong, I'm not having a go at you, I just don't get why Ofcom have had this policy, especially when they awarded the North Yorkshire licence to a company that doesn't look like it will ever start.

Regards,

John.

@Dave. If your aerial is vertically polarised you will probably be using a relay not Emley Moor. Emley Moor is horizontally polarised.
