Below are all of Nick's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.Nick: Jo, I have been asking that. It serves a wide area but intends to give us Rabbit and Gay Rabbit instead of ITV4 and 3.
The powers that be need a rocket.

David, they don't seem to get everything right, even at my location, north of Felixtowe, east coast, they quote Aldeburgh whereas Sudbury is equal strength. Perhaps they forget that on analogue Sudbury dishes out 250kw but Aldeburgh only 10.

nick: Brian, I have been trying my digibox in Aldeburgh using the Aldeburgh aerial, just to see if there was anything out there. 4 Dutch channels, A1 reception.

Mike, very busy here today, wonder why!
Rouncefall and Sud using the same frequencies, really? Don't they mess each other up? If this works why cannot all xmitters use the same channels etc for digital? Make it nice and easy for us.

Sorry Mark, gave you duff info. Felixtowe has gone digital. I do not quite understand your point, though, if you have no box!
I am at a loss to know where you are getting weak analogue from. I have checked the channels used by suspects--Dover, Bluebell Hill, Ips, Wood, and none uses the analogue freuencies formerly used by Felixtowe. Have you perhaps retuned to see what you can get? Whatever it is, it will be poor.
The local relays only carry major channels. The rubbish ones have to pay to use the service and don't bother because the audience is small.
Much the best option here is to invest in a freesat recorder.
Regards to Anita.

nick:Alternatively, if you see horizontally polarised aerials unlike your vertical one on nearby houses, they are on Sudbury and you could be too, with a high gain aerial, preferably on a long pole

I wonder if you might know to whom I can complain about the channels missing on these 'light' transmitters? We are shortly going to have a similar problem with Aldeburgh. Even though it covers a wide area, it is to lack ITV 3 and 4, yet give us Rabbit and Gay Rabbit.
The powers that be have a reprehensible set of priorities.

Nick: Thanks Brian, but I would imagine Aldeburgh serves many more. Even if we discount the two horrors I mentioned, I think many would be annoyed to have ITV 1 twice, ie ITV 1 + 1, rather than ITV3. I do not understand why the regulator is so toothless, doubtless we pay them for sitting back and not doing commonsense things.
Why would removal of two naff channels not clear the way for two public service ones?
