Apologies for being cynical but... that's the extent of digital TV, is it? DIY! I was nurtured on ink wells, mental arithmetic and The BBC Light Programme. Please tell me how to overcome my TV channel problems and retrieve our favourites in a way that this pensioner can understand and I will do my best. My parents and I await in anticipation and we thank you :-)

Stop Press! I have received an email from UK Free TV saying that I will need to perform a 'first time' retune when we get up for breakfast tomorrow morning (25/04/12). Brillo and thank you. I will do my best. I and my octogenarian and nonagenarian parents eagerly anticipate the return of our favourite channels. Someone out there speaks and behaves human being for which we are grateful. We hope that all our Christmas Eves have come at once. We will keep you posted.

Our postal code is DA17 5PD and we, too, have lost channels 12 (history) & 15 (film) - our two favourites. So much for the wonders of digital! Will these problems EVER be rectified? Not a rhetorical question, nor unreasonable! Just my observations but we are sending spacecraft beyond the outer reaches of space as we know it, whilst down here countries are invaded with hostility, children are dying of diarrhoea and TV channels disappear. I dont want to know why, I want someone I can trust to say, Leave it with me and Ill make sure it never happens again. Will the worlds ignorant and overpaid powers that be, please get their acts together! Or give me the job.
