Recently (from Oct/Nov 11) my HDD freeview recorder has occasionaly refused to record a program due to a 'weak signal'. It was an intermittant problem that has now become permanent. I can receive all channels just fine through the recorder and the TV, there doesn't seem to be a problem with veiwing TV programs, only recording them.
Ordinarily I would just have assumed the recorder had reached the end of it's working life except for the error message being about a weak signal.
My rooftop ariel was replaced between 1-2 years ago so is still fairly new. I've tried the recorder with my other rooftop ariel which supplies my PC TV tuner but get the same error message. My PC records ok with it (except for rare occasions when it says 'no signal' but a restart usually cures that).
So has there been any general reduction in signal strength which could account for this?
I need to know before I go and buy another freeview recorder. Thank you.
