Alex : I'm pleased to hear that the syncing is fine, but as amatter of interest could you tell me which model of Panasonic you have? Every Panasonic I've seen for the last 5 years has an optical output, so I'm curious to find out which one does not, if only because I know that someone is going to tell me the same thing about their TV when I'm working, and I like to be forewarned!

Hi Mike, it's Panasonic Plasma TH-37PX80B.
The in/out audio are jack sockets. The TV is 4 years old.

alex blackburn: I remember the PX80 well - a nice 100hz screen, and the only plasma that wasn't a 42". And I'm amazed to find that it does not have an optical - which is very unusual.
At least I now know, which will help when the next person asks me me how they can connect up their PX80...

MikeB: Can you tell me at what time and what channel the BBC broadcasts its test page. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack.

alex blackburn: How do I get a test card with Freeview | ukfree.tv - 10 years of independent, free digital TV advice is the only test now. The BBC HD channel has closed and it's test services stopped the night it turned into BBC TWO HD.

andrew lonsdale: This isn't 4G interference because 800MHz signals aren't in operation yet.
I would suggest that the issue might be the trees on top of the hill over which you're receiving - those being Hob Hill Wood and Dog Kennel Wood.
The signal path to Bilsdale isn't good, with it being obstructed, although it might be worth a shot.

andrew lonsdale: Moving southwards along Byland Road there are quite a few Bilsdale-facing aerials. Is there a reason yours isn't likewise?

I have a tv with built in Freeview but when I rescan the tv doesn't find very many channels and some of the ones it does only have a strength of 25% but others are perfect. Other TV's working off the same ariel are fine. Could it be the cable length from the socket on the wall to the tv causing the problem as I haven't shortened it yet so it's about 3m long?

I live in Durham City and have always had a poor signal but up until last week we had 60+ working channels - we now have 30, how do 30 channels disappear and how do we get them back? We use free view built into the tv (Sony). Thanks
