K. Sinclair: In which case the box cannot be tuned to Rowridge, for BBC at least. This is because Rowridge broadcasts BBC South. Whitehawk Hill broadcasts BBC South East, so I guess that it will be tuned to it. You should be able to check by bringing up the signal strength screen on BBC One. Rowridge broadcasts it on UHF channel 24 whereas Whitehawk is on C60.
As your aerial faces Rowridge, but is picking up Whitehawk as well, unplug the aerial when it gets to 30% of the scan; all Rowridge channels are below this and all Whitehawk ones are above.

Peter: Have you confirmed that your receiver is tuned to Black Hill and continues to be so when you have poor or no reception?
Might your TV have tuned to the Dollar relay transmitter on Dollarbank?
Check by viewing the signal strength screen:
Black Hill broadcasts BBC One on UHF channel 46 and Dollar is on C49. For STV Black Hill is C43 and Dollar C58.
If this turns out to be the case, then you will have to look at what might be able to be done to prevent it from doing so.

adam: The dish and cable used for Sky and Freesat are 100% technically compatible. So yes, it will work.
If you need additional feeds from the dish, such as to run another TV or a PVR then you may find that your LNB (the bit on the dish's arm that the cable(s) connect to) has a spare port or you can buy replacement LNBs with more ports online from sources such as eBay for around £10.

Dave: See the page for Pontop Pike where two other people with Panasonics have reported exactly the same issue with the same channel.

There is another report of the same issue, also with a Panasonic being affected, but not a Humax:

Debbie: There have been several reports of people all with the same issue with the same channel from the Pontop Pike transmitter:

Most say they have Panasonic receivers, although one has a Sony. Some have other receivers that work fine.

The Freeview system requires an aerial (which points to a transmitter on the ground) whereas the satellite dish points to an orbitting satellite.
Why can you not use the aerial?

Ian Fenton: With your aerial directed to Ladder Hill, never. This is because the Commercial networks which are those that don't broadcast from Ladder Hill don't consider it worth the investment:

The only thing you can do is investigate whether you might be able to receive the full complement of channels directly from Winter Hill.
Earlier today there was a posting from someone in Bagshawe Avenue who has sucessfully switched to using Winter Hill:

It is important to point out that in terrains such as yours where there is no line of sight, what can and what can't be received can vary over short distances.
