Charles Davison: Maybe it was a problem with the transmission then.

john Morgan: Not that I'm aware of. However -- and this might be what you were told about -- ITV4 will become available from all transmitters this month, this obviously requiring a retune if your TV doesn't automatically add it:

K O'Neil: When BBC Three HD comes off air, then I wonder if BBC Four HD might take its place, thus making it available from all transmitters. I haven't seen anything concrete to suggest it might do, but it seems logical that the space will fall to it.

Perry: Lots of people complaining of issues with the Ventnor transmitter, which you will see on its page!

John Spendlove: As you reside in a large block then it would seem likely you are using a communal aerial system.

Therefore, if the aerial system is at fault then this should be reported to the party responsible so as remedial measures can be carried out, this for the benefit of everyone.

You should confirm that BBC One (standard definition) is tuned to UHF channel 48 (690MHz), this being that of the Hunmanby transmitter. This information is usually given on the signal strength screen.

Mark A: Apparently ITV4 won over ITV3 due to it hosting sport.

Robert Cooper: Some time after the power was restored to the site!

Using the postcode look-up for powercuts on the SP Energy Networks site:

As of now it says:

"Fault Completed

There was a planned outage in your area which is now complete."

peter : I'm not sure what the point of the question is.

If you are using Freeview then you receive the BBC and ITV regions broadcast by the transmitter to which it is that you are tuned. You may be able to receive from more than one transmitter at any location and this may give a choice of region.

Virgin Media cable offers the official region for which you reside -- BBC London and ITV London in your case.

The only way to have a choice of all the regions is satellite -- typically either Sky or Freesat.

john macgregor: As published by Digital UK, engineering works are ongoing at Rowridge:

With reference to your exclamation of "no channels found" -- QED retuning was shooting yourself in the foot. It was a bad idea because now you won't know when the signal is sufficient to serve you until you have tuned and you can't tune until the signal is sufficient to serve you!

Stockland Hill (Devon, England) transmitter
Wednesday 2 September 2015 10:30AM

Kevin Porteous : Never. It is as it is until at least 2018.

The objective of them is to encourage take-up of Freeview HD (DVB-T2) receiving equipment. In 2018 multiplexes may be rejigged so as to increase coverage of the services currently carried on the quasi-national HD multiplexes, COM7 and COM8 which aren't carried by Stockland Hill.
