Chris Foley: No, the splitter works by frequency and isn't bothered whether signals are analogue or digital.
Reading in between the lines, I am wondering whether you are watching the ouput of your Sky box on the other TVs. This uses an analogue signal. Is this what you referred to as being "terrible" after switchover?
If so, then perhaps a digital signal has started up on the UHF channel (frequency) that you have your Sky box set to use. A digital signal interfering with an analogue picture makes it go snowy. You may be able get an idea whether this is the issue by removing the incoming aerial from the Sky box.

Doug Milne: I suspect that you are in a locality that isn't best served by Tay Bridge which is why there is another local relay.
It is located on the water tower and radiates northwards:
mb21 - The Transmission Gallery
It only rebroadcasts PSB channels, so if you have any chance of receiving from Angus then that would be your better bet in terms of more channels.

Doug Milne: Just realised that you live south of the water tower so it is doubtful as to whether you may be able to receive from it, it being only 2W and the crossed broadcast log antennas being pointed in the opposite direction and perhaps partly screened by the metalwork.

Alan: I don't think that you will receive anything more than the PSB channels. If you have installed the booster in an effort to receive more channels, then remove it.
You are receiving from the relay at, or adjacent to The Lowe Farm:

David Hitchin: Have you confirmed that you are tuned to Newhaven transmitter? Obviously it doesn't broadcast COM channels, so they aren't of relevant for Newhaven.
If you are lucky, you may be able to receive COM channels from Whitehawk Hill or Rowridge which are on close bearings to Newhaven.
If you have amplification then this could possibly result in the squeaks you describe. Reduce the level of the amplifier or remove it.

Howard Moore: No it isn't possible to predict.
I wouldn't expect, in cases where an alternative is provided, that this would ever be a subscription service!

Digital UK suggests your area might be "marginal variable" and not "served". Not sure whether the motorway traffic crossing the path could add to your woes.
If you do go for Divis, then use a Group A aerial rather than a wideband one as they are not as good on Group A channels.
