Rather dumb about these things so have I understood correctly. Have Pioneer DV-630H which was using ITV1 analogue for Guide Plus EPG. I have Free Sky (Thomson DSI4212 box) and a Panasonic FV TV both of which receive Bid TV.

As far as I can see from what I've read so far There's nothing there that will let me get Guide+ into the 630H automatically? If so I'll stop messing around and buy something else.

Thanks Brian - that saves me hours of reading and plugging/unplugging scart leads.

Since I'm on cable my best option would seem to be to upgrade to Virgin V+ which gives 2 channel recording to hard disc.

Pioneer still usable with video+ - shame to pension off such a good piece of kit.

BBC regions and nations - some notes

I'm in North Hants and registered for the Switchover Help Scheme. But after the Hannington switch-over the installer visited and said that the signal from Hannington was too weak to use (local Freeview blind-spot). I was advised to keep using my present aerial pointed at Crystal Palace, and to re-check Hannington signal strength after Crystal Palace completion on 18th April. For practical reasons Freesat is not an option for me.

After 4th April I retuned my TV. The signal strengths reported in the menu system show my BBC channels are very strong and the transmitter reported as London. However on a number of channels, ITV1 for example, the signal strength is very strong but the transmitter is reported as Berks & North Hants.

Is the second Crystal Palace reconfiguration due 18th April likely to influence reception from Hannington (eliminate dead spot)?
